Help, my screen resolution.

A few days ago I made a topic about what graphiscard I should buy.

Well, I've bought the 1050ti and I had to buy another TV cable. Now my problem is my screen resolution, I changed it multiple times and now it's at 1368x720, and my TV settings are on 4:3. I can't seem to find 16:9 and now my screen is really weird. I don't really know how to explain it, but my bottom bar is like half sized now, and I have no clue how to fix it. When I try to open another page on google chrome, my mouse goes out of sight and I can't see where I'm clicking.

Any people that know how to fix this?

YES...do you have an intel or amd procesor?

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005596.html if you do have an intel procesor you can use this to manually adjust the screen res
Yes, it's an intel. I tried changing the resolution my self multiple times, but no matter what, my bottom taskbar is soaked. Whenever I open google chrome, I can't see the red X to close my pages. It's weird, I installed new drivers and nothing works, changing my resolution doesn't work either. I could use help on teamspeak 3 by someone who understands my problem

Please disregard that previous advice it is completely and utterly wrong, If you have as you stated purchased and fitted a NVIDIA 1050 you will need to use the Nvidia control panel to adjust your graphics settings, this has NOTHING to do with the CPU.

Hi Tristian, Sorry for the delay in replying to your question.

First off have you already resolved the problem ?
if not .... please could you answer a few questions.

  1. Is this as a secondary screen or is this your primary?
  2. What screen are you plugging it into ? (make and model / or photos of any labels should you not know)
  3. What cable are you using to connect it?
@Zeito @CMO Marc Smith How did you guys miss this one 😭 heehee

Hey I think you'll find mr from all my posts you've been liking that I've been doing the needful! Just elsewhere. If i miss something I'll put it down as ITIL triage :p

Sorry, I'm at school but I had to buy a Hdmi - dva cable if I'm correct. It's a very small sized cable and it goes to a HDMI. It's my primary screen, it's a television screen. I am currently at school so I don't know what screen it is. I am asking my mother on facebook if she can send me the model or pictures because my phone isn't charged up. All I could tell you it's a samsung television.

This is the photo my sister sent me.

I'm using the 2 small cables now

I tried switching my screen resolution from my TV and I can only choose from Wide and 4:3

You owe your sister ;)

Are you able to check if it is a DVI-I or DVI-D cable there is a difference :)

if it is a DVI-i you will need to get yourself an adaptor as a straight cable wont work.

I am under the impression though that your TV has a HDMI port. Any specific reason you are not using it as it doesnt look like anything else s plugged in apart from your computer.

let me know if you can see a port like this on the back of your TV

Yes, there is one. I used that one but I switched, because nothing seemed to work. I only have my cable plugged into the back of my television, don't question me why lol

I will check once I get home. I'll be home in 1.5h and let you know.

When I came back after a while not coming on the forums I only checked the posts that didn't have replies, I assumed the rest were solved xD This is why we need a way to manage this forum better.

Think I'll start assuming nothing is solved until I've checked the post now.

Please tell me you didn't pay that much money for a cable xD

Hi Tristian, You should be able to use HDMI to HDMI, (they cost about £0.99 with free delivery on amazon :/ ......) Unless of course you are using the HDMI port on your TV for something else? ? do you have anything else plugged into the TV ?
I would not recommend using adaptors when possible but yes they do work.
i currently use a display port to VGA and HDMI to VGA adaptors on my computer because I'm to cheap to replace the monitors.
