Provide a one sentence summary of the bug: Microphone keeps randomly cutting off and not working.
Provide a full description of the bug: I have had this issue for like a year or two now. I originally said something about it and got told "voicemod servers mess with fivem servers" or something random.

For quite a long time now, whenever I would play the game, my microphone would randomly get cut off and the only way I would be able to get it working again is by turning voice chat off/on. I used to try to use Voice mod with it, but eventually I switched it to just my microphone and it still happened. This is quite frustrating since it can happen like 3 times in an hour typically. And I never know when it has happened until the bloke next to me who hasn't heard a word of what I have said for the past 3 minutes asks if I'm still there.

All I know is it randomly cuts off, and I have to go to my settings, turn voice chat off and then on again, and it works.

My microphone works everywhere else perfectly fine without issues. I have reinstalled GTA V and FiveM several times over the past 1-2 years, I have even reinstalled my operating system. It cuts off when I use Voice mod, and it cuts off when I use just my microphone by itself without software. It only does it on this server I believe, and it has not always been the case because there was a bit of time when my mic never cut out, but at one point it just started cutting out randomly. This happens multiple times an hour, every time I've played. If this is something I can fix myself, I would much love help with it, but I feel like if I have tried so many things on practically new setups, maybe it's a server thing?
Link(s) To Any Screenshots/Footage Of The Bug:

There is a FiveM client build that has some improvements to VOIP related things which I believe may fix the issues you're having, try going into your FiveM Application Data > CitizenFX.ini and add the following:

INI:
UpdateChannel=canary

If you already have a line for the UpdateChannel then change the existing line so it matches what I sent above.

Could you also let me know in a few days if this does fix the issue please

I believe it does fix the issue. I have no clue why it fixes it, but I from the decent bit of testing I've done, it seems like my mic does not cut out anymore. I might still happen possibly, but from what iv seen, it hasn't at all so far! I appreciate it!

Would there ever be a way where the Update channel thing wouldn't be needed? Or is it necessary always and forever?

I've just been told that it's also on the canary update channel currently so it'll likely no longer be required sometime soon

You'll have to switch to canary/unstable shortly, as otherwise shortly (in the next few days or possibly weeks) you will lose the ability to connect to any adhesive protected servers. Assuming no issues arise with the mumble fixes, you can probably expect it to be promoted to the stable client towards the end of this month.

@1A3 @Ehbw do either of you know what "specific/feature/mumble-fixes" might be referring to? Maybe I can try and do some digging and see if it has implemented over to Canary or something, I just need to know what it is 😅

It has been implemented into canary with commit https://github.com/citizenfx/fivem/commit/8b97411420f03e7819d24ff2477cefaeefc4e13a (build 12164). The build channel you are referring to is an experiment branch, a temporary branch for testing certain features / patches before they are deployed to the masses. They are found in the experiments group on the CFX Forums (private, apply only group).

Oh wow, that's very informative thank you!. Can believe it took like a year or two before they finally patched it. And looking at the commit descriptions supposedly it could have just been because it was getting or requesting the "username" and "ID", but it was only sending the ID. I just wonder why more people weren't having this issue.

Nothing related to mumble disconnection would have been cause by that. Your problem seemed to be related to a race condition when connecting to the mumble server. and / or periods of high packet loss leading the mumble client and server being out of sync, leading to you being unable to speak or hear people until a full-resync was done (toggling mumble on and off would have achieved this manually)
