Gang War/Beef Rule

So unsure if this will be a popular one, but they say u don't ask or (suggest u will never know)

So there have been a couple of wars I have been in where we have beefed for 2 plus weeks then war starts, and it ends up going on for over a month in total. Longest was 7 to 8 weeks for me.

My suggestion is once beef starts and a gang send the other stating they want to go into war and gives them the war rules set gang has a week or 2 to accept or negotiate, or the beef ends if both gangs can't come to an agreement. And maybe 2 weeks cooldown like the war one is implemented.

Wars can be expensive for everyone involved and in some sense takes some fun away from RP if it goes on for too long. As people start getting burned out cuz it's the same kind of RP fight, dodgy, repeat every night.

I feel a month in total for beefing/ war is a fair amount of time, anything more, the fun starts to dwindle.

Obviously, if there's a great RP story leading to any war then it could be longer as long as staff are happy with the RP story behind it.

I know there's people out there who has been doing this longer than me, so any suggestions from anyone would be great.

I don’t really think this would change much? I feel like this would just put more barriers in the way of natural RP occurring, instead of helping. The points you’ve raised are already something that gang leads could do, unless it’s just a case of their ego getting in the way honestly.

Like this for example, if a gang is getting bored or burned out from the same stuff then eventually they’ll stop playing. At this point whether winning or losing a war, I personally think gang leads should be taking the lead and trying to end it, for the good of their group. I don’t mean you need to surrender or whatever, I just mean they should start looking to end it without hard rules in place.

Other than that, there is already a rule in place that allows staff to end any wars, so if they wanted to step in they could.

Thing with that "BEEF" needs to build up enough to turn into a war , can't just rob a group and then throw war rules at them a couple days later because in some cases beef can end after a couple of days and does not need to turn into a "WAR" as @JackJohnson said gang leaders should be taking in the fact their members are drained/burnt-out and make a decision to end it.

Recently from my experience at least, the "buildup time" gets ignored, and people are straight in warcars, push times, etc. The past "wars" I have been in at least have had no difference in the build up than the official war.

It would be nice to see some tension build up between gangs before a shootout, pushtimes and warcars come into the picture, but this is something everyone could improve on, in my opinion.

Raise the bar on what is expected from a ''beef'' scenario in terms of RP.
The fact that people jump to war cars etc like @Isak said after the smallest bit of disrespect instead of being creative is in my opinion a result of those who came before, and we as a community ''allowed'' it.

I really don't think more rules is a solution, if anything the corruption rule for police is a good example of how something looks good on paper but maybe not so much in practice.
We have collectively built a world where the ones who are aggressive and win the fights are rewarded and now we have to live with it. Im not sure what the best solution is but perhaps putting the power of declaring war in each respective Group leads hands instead of it being mutual is the best way to do it, At least the current rule set can come into play sooner.

Example:
Group 1: disrespects group 2
Group 2: Responds with war cars and immediate escalation

Group leads of either group should have an OOC discussion on how they want to proceed, whether they agree or not either party can declare war which would put the current ruleset into play.
Main issue with this is that ''war rules'' can take some time to agree on, might be good if the group leads discuss a default rule set in case no agreement can be made to serve in place. Staff should also be in the loop on this to monitor the quality of RP etc.

This doesn't have to have staff involved, it's us gang members that are playing it not staff. So it's us who are commenting that should make a difference in the game instead of complaining about it in forums. We should all be able to make the appropriate decision in game whether you think it's good or not towards the development of your gang, not staff. Honestly, I've been in loads of fights against different Gangs and I loved it, the excitement of getting to use the weapons i worked hard for and fighting alongside friends, even if I lost I wouldn't look to report anyone unless it was blatant cheating. I think that everyone in gangs or leading gangs should enjoy the aspect of fighting rather than winning it on the forums. After all it's a game, so many people get banned for petty things but all we really want to do is play the game itself and enjoy the server but also make it better by us making a change in the game and not sitting becoming keyboard warriors. Many people that I've talked to about this have said that's what's the problem with this server, too many people just care about one aspect and do not enjoy the actual battle against other people. Hope people take something from this and try to make the server better.

This was a post I made not just to talk about my idea (good or bad). But 2 get everyone's input and maybe any ideas they may have I don't know how we can do this in game.

There's been some good points everyone isn't going to agree so let's keep it civil.

Beef should 100% be an build up to an war. But beef and war feel exactly the same there no difference between the too at the moment.
