FPS Part 2 (final)

Ok so I recently made a post complaining about my specs wondering why I couldn't reach even 30fps on arma, but today I started playing breaking point (I have never tried another server before) and noticed I was getting 45-60fps with ultra settings, but when I play Altis life I only get 20-30fps with medium settings. I don't understand why and it's annoying me as I love Altis life and would like it to perform better. Any suggestions  why

Hvat is the specs off your computer?

Its can  be many reassons why you have low FPS

Do you get low FPS everywhere on Altis or just in the crowded parts like Kavala? Also, try activating Kavala mode for a slight increase of FPS. Kavala mode can be found in-game when pressing Y and going to Settings.

Guys, my specs can handle every game I have at high settings and also other servers I have visited, it's just altislife.co.uk where I have a low FPS, my FPS stays between 20-30 weather I have my settings on low or ultra

(Low fps ONLY on Altislife)

also on other servers I still get 50+fps in city's or gun fights etc

First of all , Ultra and Medium doesnt make a diffrence , i even get more frames on ultra.

Render distance is the  thing , and you're not the only one i get around 25 fps if im lucky , has to do with alot of people and alot of entities on the map.

Learned this from skyrim , when you have fps lag turn 360 degress let everything load in ;)

Hi DankDoge,

To explain some things first, you need to know that Arma III is a really CPU (single core) intensive game. Altislife.co.uk uses alot of scripts and player slots and alot of things are rendering on the client side.

Looking at your CPU:  Intel Core i5 2400, It's single core performance is already better then the Red Army's top AMD 8350. So be glad you are not having an AMD machine.http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-2400-vs-AMD-FX-8350

If you desperate want to improve your FPS you could go to an I7 4790K or the popular 4770K.

Also try to use the following guide: http://wiki.day0.com.au/ArmA_3_Performance_Tweaks_and_Settings_Guide It is filled with some minor tweaks to get the most out of your Arma III experience.

To end, 20-30 FPS is actually fine for Altislife.co.uk server, as many players won't top you. The reason why you are having less trouble playing other gamemodes is because of the less scripting and players playing on the server. (You will notice the difference when there is 70-80 players on the Altislife or 125)

INS Xsum.

PS:  8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz  <--- On the low side, check your memory and see if it is in dual channel mode.

You have to remember Arma 3 has a flawed game design and is unoptimized

Yes if for example you buy an i5 4690k you need a motherboard that supports LGA 1150 Socket. your motherboard is 1155 so the 4690k wouldn't fit.

ok thanks, also would a new cpu make a big difference

It would make a big difference, especially when you can make the use of hyperthreading on the I7 4770 or 4790.
