Forum Whitelisting

Jack D

Well-known member
After around 3-4 weeks of not being whitelisted as police on the forums its quickly becoming frustrating. I have exhausted many options, I have turned to member support, who have quickly stated to see DI's, I have contacted DI's who have swiftly directed me towards CI's, I have went to your staff team, who just say !its broken atm" and have said this for about a week. So I message one of the 'main guys' Neo, no reply.

Guys, seriously...Who the actual hell am I meant to contact!!! This is ridiculous, like If you guys cannot be bothered to fix the whiteisting yourselves, just ask invision to do it for you!! After all you are probrably paying them like 100 a month for these forums!

As understandable your frustrations are in the processes and the lack of access to the police forum, backlash like this only serves to cause further issues and looks unprofessional.

Some issues have been occurring with whitelisting that are going to be looked into, I'm sure. Give it some more time and just look to someone who's whitelisted for advice on what you're missing and everything will turn out okay - the police forums aren't too heavily updated and you're not missing too much, as far as I know.

As for messaging management, the answer that staff gave you was final - please avoid going to management about issues like this unless directed to do so by staff as messaging management directly causes unnecessary delay in more important processes.

Thought I would chip in. @Jackdevo

To add to what @AlanBsaid:

1) Police and NHS whitelisting is broken due to CloudFlare blocking the connections from the police/NHS database trying to connect to the forums, it's just denying the request and bouncing back (this is what some NHS tech guys inform me)

2) This means that because of this all whitelisting had to be done manually though the IP Board admin control panel which to my knowledge only @Wilco and @Ciaran have access to so to get whitelisting you would need to contact one of those although in general mean time I would ask a friend in the police to tell you any important information as they are very busy and so forum whitelisting is the bottom of their list.

3) Contavting Invision won't do anything as its a problem on the web server end with CloudFlare installed blocking connections. (Or so I believe)

4) As mch as I understand your frustration (I needed BA whitelisting for quite a while) comments like the below aren't needed.

If you guys cannot be bothered to fix the whiteisting
What I would advise is contact Ciaran (if he isn't busy) on  teamspeak and if you don't get a reply submit a forum bug report and then @CI Joseph TadworthMay be able to pass it on.

Sorry if some of this isn't 100% accurate but this is what I've heard from

@CST TomTheDogeand @CMO Marc Smith

EDIT: Maybe @DSGT Vaffla @CI Joseph Tadworth Know more about the issue they do the web development

Alright, Here's the deal. Talk to your superiors instead of making silly posts on the forums....

Whitelisting for forums isn't an IPB issue, it's done by the police on their PNC... however, as explained above, there's an issue via the DDOS protection that's been preventing this....

messaging me because you need a little tag on the forum is a bit naive, you're not REALLY missing out...

I suggest you sort your attitude because the RPUK Altis Police force are meant to be mature... and this clearly demonstrates that you are not.

I've now whitelisted you on the forums.... lets see how long this maturity level keeps you there.

Most has been covered above, so I am just going to say this:

If you think you can do a better job, here is your chance:

https://www.roleplay.co.uk/forms/10-development-team-application/

For every hour of a game we might be able to play, we probably put 10-15 in through development, administration, planning and other things. Not to mention, a huge community, you upgrade one thing, two more break. If we had more people to assist in development, then yeah it would be done quicker. So to speed up the process, you could always just apply to help yourself, as frankly myself and the rest of development put in more hours each week than any other role in the community in all probability.

You know I asked about getting police access and was told the same thing about it being a bit wonky and i was certainly not going to bother wilco or ciaran for something that can wait.

Jackdevo last time I was a cop it took nearly 3 months to get forum access and I was patient then, really you should chill out and remember how hard the staff/devs work.

If it takes a week, a month or 6 months it will get done, patience is key :)

P.S Just noticed I got forum access thank you very much whoever done it for me :)

Thankyou for all of your answers, I feel that the concern in which surrounds the issue that I have stated above has been resolved. My question was not meant to be an attack to any member of the community, it was simply a statement about something which is clearly affecting a lot of people. I am thrilled that so many of you have responded to and fixed my issue, however I feel that I have been attacked as a result of simply raising my concern. If I seem imature by raising a concern that others may of been afraid to ask, then I am not sorry. I feel that my role within this topic has been successful, It has brought the attention of many higher ups who have now resolved both mine and the communities issue, and I thank you for that.

My post was in no way meant to be an attack, however after all else failed, I had to bring it to the forum with a stronger demeanour and a lot more strength behind the content that I was posting in order to finally get my point accross.

I rest my case.

Thankyou,

Jack.
