Please copy and paste the rule you broke: Ban message = "Cheating w/ gang"

Please give reasons why we should give you a final chance:
I record most of my encounters, so if you could just point me towards what reason/s you have to suspect I cheat I would like to prove otherwise. I assume you wouldn't ban somebody without evidence or something concrete, so please be fair and allow me to defend my self.

You and the rest of the guys with the zy name at the end of it were banned for suspected aimbot use.

@TinyBigJacko was the banning admin who will tell us more.

After (and during) more than ten reports from players (different ones on most occasions) over the last few days since the 'izy' gang arrived on server, I and Vacatio have taken the opportunity to investigate via a number of methods (not all of which I will reveal here).

I am confident, as is Vacatio, that at least one member (specifically Zizy, maybe others) are using aimbot. KDR ratios, kill-speed-vs-spatial-proximity and other signals make it fairly obvious to anyone who has experience of this type of cheat. Wall-running, flicking, spotting, wall-clipping, and other signs give this away rather blatantly, tbh.

The entire gang, whether they have direct access to aimbot themselves, have been profiting from this 'insight'. I've seen them target isolated players who are sitting in the middle of the map, miles away from anyone, and not at a regular 'work-site' or game location, and drive *directly* to them, across country, for several KM, and then rob them. I've watched them observe individuals from miles away, behind hill and dale (without any access to in-game surveillance via chopper, car, etc with true LOS observation), and wait until they became isolated, in order to do a robbery.

I've seen them kill three well-known players instantly, in three shots in rapid-fire, even though those players were several tens of meters apart from each other (and some hidden in bushes or behind walls). Technically impossible for this level of 'one-shot kill' ratio to be maintained.

I've also seen them beeline across the map (as a group, in a car) for a *specific* remote house which happens to contain a large crate of stored goodies (usually rifles, etc) and lockpick their way in very quickly to obtain the goods. Conversely, I have *never* seen them break-and-enter a house where there was nothing worth stealing.

At least two other players have video evidence of the one-shot-kill aimbotting going on, and I have asked them to keep those videos in reserve in the event that this got disputed, but frankly, I'm really not sure it will do any good. I am convinced enough, after several hours watching this gang, that there is cheating going on, and whether every individual in the gang is *actually* hacking/cheating or not, they are all benefiting from it, and must surely be aware of it occurring. That tacit approval has gained the entire 'izy' gang a ban, which in my view, should be permanent.

We give repeals to people who make mistakes, or don't read rules properly, or who lose it in a moment of rage. People can sometimes be forgiven for those sorts of 'crime' if they are sufficiently humble and contrite. Hackers and cheaters, however, are usually beyond redemption, and their crime is an order of magnitude more pre-meditated, and signals an attitude which is unlikely to change. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

It's a shame, because I did observe some pretty good RP from a couple of the gang during my lengthy overwatch. They are actually good players, when it comes to playing the roles. It's just a damn shame they have to cheat in order to maintain the upper hand when it comes to gear and firefights.

With regret, terminate with extreme prejudice would be my call, but I am more than willing to allow another admin to make that decision, if Wilco agrees.

I will be happy to post a video of my own, with 3 other members of the group where I personally get 5 kills in a row with fairly good accuracy, so that you can observe from my point of view, what you may consider cheating.

I will post it on this thread tonight, when i get home.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if you have been spectating us you would have seen an aimbot lock on, as it is the most obvious thing when watching youtube videos of it for any game, FPS or third person. Even advertised "humanized" ones on videos you can still see the position of the camera smoothing and it being very obvious. Surely you would have noticed something like that when spectating (and taken a video?).

Anyway, if you could keep this open till tomorrow or something I will post that video if it may help. Perhaps it is the nature of this type of community that being good at shooting in a military sim or having good awareness and communication is such blasphemy.

Please open your steam account in the meantime for us to view.

After rethinking, speaking to my friends and re-reading your post it seems like even if I spend my time going through footage and editing and compiling a video it is not going to change the outcome of what you think you have seen. As you haven't actually posted any substantial evidence from your thorough spectating it leads me to believe your opinion will not be changed as it is based on belief and thoughts rather than concrete solid evidence. I would be trying to prove a negative, which simply doesn't work which is why it's never required in a court of law.

It is your server and your decision is final, anything I personally say or show you will not change the outcome of that, and from what my friends have told me there was nothing suspect even going on (including attempted robberies of houses which they did indeed try to loot other ones with no boxes or loot inside).

Was fun boys.

FWIW, Fizy, I never observed any aimbot like behaviour on YOUR feed, but that's not to say you weren't doing it at times when I wasn't observing. I very definitely observed it on Zizy's feed last night. Other admins have said they've observed it on Dizy's.

I've not supplied video, because I don't need to - it's our server, our rules, our community we're safeguarding, not a court of law. Other players have their own (player p-o-v) videos which are strong circumstantially, but not beyond all doubt - which is why I've had to spend so long spectating.

I *have* observed aimbot lock-on, and very possibly one which has been custom written to 'fudge' the lock... but the general behaviour of the player(s) I have observed it on from your gang, backs up the case, I'm sorry to say. I've been at this game too long to not see it sticking out like a sore thumb.

I would wager that, given your last post, and the fact that you've probably had a discussion with some of the rest of your gang about it, they've decided to 'call it a day' because they know that ultimately, they're caught red-handed. Of course, they'll frame this to you as "the admins minds are made up, we're wasting our time", because that enables them to recede with a shade of doubt and a vestige of honour, but in my mind, it's practically a confession. You yourself may not even be aware that your gang members are cheating, but trust me, they are - and sadly, because you are closely associated with them, you pay the price for their crimes too. Guilty by association. Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas, as the saying goes.

Like I said, it does pain me a little because some of your gang members were excellent roleplayers - which makes it all the more shame to discover they are cheats as well. But we have to protect out community from that sort of thing, and occasionally, a dictatorial stance is one that garners the most safety for everyone else.

Good luck with finding a new home. It was fun, but sadly, it's now over for you here. Bye.
