First Graphics Card

Just had somebody list an old Riva TNT2 graphics card on a computer facebook group, this took me back to my first proper graphics card

Gawd those were the days salivating over the voodoo2 & 5 cards just waiting to be able to afford the voodoo5, until they fucked up and tanked the company, which kinda made you want to avoid it. But they pioneered SLI which we all love and hate today, so kudos for that, was so upset when Nvidia bought them out and cancelled the voodoo line

THE VOODOO 5 IN QUAD SLI GLORY- And another to give you an idea how FREAKING huge they were !!!
WHO THE FUCK PUTS A HEAT SINK ON A SLI BIRDGE!!!!!

God I wish I had got to play with these when they were about. and really wish 3DFX had stayed alive, Would be great to have an alternative to AMD  / Nvidia

What was your first graphics card, and are you old enough to reminisce about it !!!  or just dont care yet.

My first card was only the GT 640 nothing to get excited about

Put it in the overpriced pc I purchased pre built from PC World

My first card was a 64mb Geforce2 MX400 - I remember wanting to play Soldier of Fortune with some guys on IRC and i didn't have a graphics card. I remember buying one card and it was AGP and my PC didnt even have an AGP slot and I was devastated. I ended up getting a PCI version.

I remember looking at Unreal Tournament and being glad it had software rendering because at the stage i didnt have a Graphics card and couldnt use Open GL.

Those were the days. Now i've a 6gb Geforce GTX 980Ti!

I had some Geforce 2 cards, but didn't consider them real graphics cards, the Riva was my first Gaming card

Hahaha no, not me. I realised my mistake when i didnt have the compatible slot - i was raging too because the AGP card was better than the MX400 and came with a free copy of GunMetal. The MX400 came with naff all.

GF MX400, GF 4000 MX, GF7xxx LE, AMD 4970 (awesome), AMD 6950 (flashed to 6970), GF GTX 770 XLR8, GF GTX 980TI was my string of cards.

UT was so good, bit of CTF-Hall of Giants, a little bit of Facing Worlds, installing Chaos UT for some fun, then UT2k4 took it to a whole new level.

My first was a GTX 770 but I've only been doing pc gaming for just over a year and I'm now on a GTX 980.
