So on the weekend i upgraded to a EVGA 970, I was using a AMD R9 290

When i went to play fallout, the frames has dropped alot, and there is alot of difference in fps, at times it goes from 30 to 60?

Anyway to fix this?

Did you fully remove all your old AMD drivers for good measure? http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

What sort of settings are you playing on? A recent FO4 update added support for nvidia HBAO+ which adds greater detailing, shadows, occlusion etc. Which might be dropping your frames somewhat. When do you notice the drops? When starting at big landscapes with fog, weather etc. or starting at the floor on a single texture?

That said - Bethesda games aren't exactly well known for their streamlined and bug-free engines and games. I think the frames on mine vary a bit as well from solid 60 and then dropping down to high forties. I'm running a 980ti.

Still getting bad FPS :(
what'd you change? did you check the settings level etc? If you jam it down on low, are the frame still bad?

Put it on low, the med, then high, then ultra - checking which settings change each time and you'll narrow down whatever is casuing the issue - assuming its graphical settings related.

Poor @Zeitoalways getting dragged into tech stuff... :p

...But i know you like it!

Interesting, only in FO4? If you're getting it bad even in low settings it makes me think think it's endemic to FO4's engine, or there's something very fishy going on.

Only in FO4, was getting amazing frames on the division!

That's what you get for betraying team red xaxaxax

On a serious note, you might want to check your 3D driver settings in NVIDIA control panel, check for power usage prefrence and switch if to max performance, make sure no VSYNC is forced aswell.

I recommend GeForce Experience almost all major titles are heavily optimized setting wise for Nvidia and you get to reap the benefits.

Have you disabled god rays ?

or either put them on low and shadows on medium.

After reading through some forms it seems quite a few people are having issue's something to do with the most recent update could just be on Bethesda's end.
