Elakin's PC

Elakin

Back from the dead
So I've been saving for a while and finally got enough and decided "Fuck it" and threw £1300 at a new PC. Specs are:

  • Intel Core i7 4790K 4GHz CPU
  • 8GB DDR3 Memory
  • Asus RoG Maximus VII Gene Motherboard
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
  • 500GB Solid State Drive
  • 3TB Hard Drive

Case: Corsair Obsidian 350D

Power Supply: Corsair AX760i, 760 Watts, 80plus platinum

Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder X4 (old is gold)

Mouse is some old faithful Gigabyte one

Headset: Steelseries Siberia V2's.

I'm gonna be looking into buying a new SSD soon as I feel I'll need 2 after a while, and probably some more RAM but it will do for now!  Here's a iPhone quality picture of it's insides!

Indeed, she is sexy. Out of interest what kinda performance do you get a) in the middle of nowhere, b) in Kavala with a full server, and c) on average?

Hold this question until tomorrow! I only got it yesterday and got stuff sorted today as I was working etc. leaving it to download games overnight so I will let you know once I've actually gotten in game! Hopefully all will be good, and so will the frames!

Looks Nice!

What case is housing all them spanking new components?

In my opinion, too loud. But in reality, it's not really THAT loud, just louder than my older one.

And same, it's so old but so reliable. <3

Do you have your radiator in push/pull with fans on the other side too? The fans that came bunled with my H80i are mad loud - but they also move a lot of air. I'll maybe one day consider replacing them, but for now i just put the headphones on!

Make sure you get Corsair Link installed if supported!!

Did you ever have any luck in setting up the macro keys? I wanted to set mine up for like hands up etc. never got round to it.

Everything you just said was foreign to me :D

And no I haven't yet, but I will probably get round to it sometime soon!

So you have 2 fans on your radiator blowing air over it out of the case - a Push config. You can (case dependent) put another 2 fans on the otherside to 'pull' air out of the case. That's known as push/pull :)

Corsair Link is a software app that (if supported) can control the RGB logo on the cooler, as the fan speeds etc.
