Dropped a key for my vehicle

I accidently hit the drop key button while viewing a vehicle in my keychain?

Can someone explain to me how this works? will I never be able to lock/unlock again?

Will it respawn in my garage later on (someone robbed me of it earlier)

If it gets impounded / cleaned by the server you can get it back from the garage.   If it was stolen and they decide to scrap it, then its gone forever

when I checked my keychain it was still there, and the guys were offline what i'm saying is that i clicked the "drop key" button, does that mean it's lost?

If you find it you can lock pick the keys back, else refer to my previous post, it's still yours so the same things about impound imply
