Hello everyone on roleplay.co.uk.

Today i want to speak with you all about roleplay on the server. but i want too state:
I do not want any kind of shit storm or any irrelevant post to be made, this topic is only about the amount of roleplay on the server

Recently there have been a lot of situation brought out in the light, were medic have broken medic laws, and police have broken laws for the entertainment and good roleplay.
And some of those people have got in trouble for having a great time roleplaying and make a fun day for many players on the server, i'm not gonna state exactly which incident i'm referring too. but i want to bring up the topic.
Is it really right that people who are trying to have great roleplay should be punished for giving a lot of people a fun time?

Or should they rather be recommended for great roleplay and or even be given credits for it?

Another topic i want to bring up is. what is actually good enough roleplay before you engage in a violent action (etc, knocking someone out, zipting, and or even killing someone)

Recently there were put up a video on the forum about the proper way of initiating on someone if you wanted too rob them. CTTA (link in the bottom)

In this video you have a lot of good examples on how to initiate properly to take control without having to actually use violence unless you are forced too.

Now i will be posting a video in the bottom of this topic has well, were i was initiated on, and i will let you guys freely speak on if you tough it was enough rp to knock me out.
Note about the video: After i was knocked out they did initiated on my friend who then shoot at them, at which point i was killed. (and the mather in the video has been solved. there for the censure on the names.)

Now the reason i'm making this post is not because of what happened too me directly, but because i want us all, even me to improve on our roleplay, so we all can have fun.
Yes we lose some and we win some. but for me, has long has the roleplay was good i still win wen i lose.

So i want to hear people opinions on what you think can be improved on the server, what do you believe we need to improve too improve the general roleplay.

video does not really portray poor RP in my opinion , Its very one sided and does not give a true interpretation of the incident at hand.

But i agree RP has been on the decline but us at the copper kings always maintain high quality RP and try and make it fun for both parties

I wanted to say something about the robbing part.

When you with you gang see a truck at weed proccesing for example and you want to rob them your aim is to get their truck ofcourse. I always rob by making it fun, silly inroductions and things like that. Most of the time the first thing I hear is: "Get the fuck away from me" or something along those lines. At that point I don't think that I can have a chat with that particular person so I get to the demanding part straight away.

I get your point though. Some poeple rob in a very lame, and boring way. I always try to be random and funny. Sometimes I even protect the guy that I was going to rob just because he's cool.

It depends on the robber and the guy that gets robbed I think, but here is indeed room for improvements here in there though.

technilly by you saying ow you knocked me out is fail rp in the video btw. because you wouldnt be able to speak if unconsios - moving on from that. this is a subject i have seen many times over the 2 years iv been here - yes it has gone down slightly. do i think its a big issue. not really. you will always get some good rp  and some bad rp - but roleplay is roleplay

In my opinion this iis not a good way to ininate. The person robbing should issue compliance and state the consequenzes what happens if the person does not comply.

Also Time to comply is good for better rp. It seems to me like the robbers are hiding behind a "soft" approach to ensure that the come out on top of the situation.

Good roleplay is when both parties enjoy the roleplay and full adapt their role. How exactly somebody should enjoy getting knocked out and shot after this conversation is beyond me.

Somebody on the forums said something which I believe everybody should take on. "If you want good roleplay, set the example. If they dont follow they won't be around long". Basically set a good rp example and people will follow.

There's always the twerps with shit roleplay that go around with their cronies; they are monitored by staff and such.. maintain low RP=you won't be here long.. However maintain good RP=You'll find appraisal through the recommend a player!

I can undterstand why whitelised factions punish people for infringement of the rules because, well they're rules. Obviously there are different standards that are set and that should be taken into account situation by situation; how many people were there, how many people enjoyed it, to what extent did they enjoy it, is it worth letting it slide?(which could set a bad precedent for other people of that faction, ' on DickheadDave broke rule XYZ and got recommended and NOT punished, I can too!'-said DumbAssNewbie...

personally I am happy with the quality of roleplay at the moment!

I'd have to agree that the quality of role-play across the board has gone down as of late.

Tip; try to avoid those who you know to give poor roleplay, and hang around those that give good roleplay, is all I can say really :z

The problem of poor RP is a big deal when large gangs who have power in the server focus more on shooting people, cop chases and robberies rather than RP. I'll probably get hate for saying this but I have seen better roleplay from a dog turd than some of the bigger gangs right now.

6-12 months ago the roleplay was a lot better than it is now. Although, I still find that the Police, NHS, UNMC and most players provide an excellent level of RP which keeps the server enjoyable. As Smith said, it's best just to avoid groups of people who probably won't provide the best RP.

Poor RP is an issue at the moment and has been recently however I have to give it to most people (all factions), roleplay has defiantly improved. We're not quite there to say that the issue is fixed and probably will never get there however it's getting better and hope it keeps going that way.
