Do the police acctually respond to the phone messages?

I have been wondering lately if any officers actually take note of the msgs sent by the phone as countless times I have tried to contact them saying about robberies/guys at chop shop or drug dealers and they seem to shrug it off and just patrol around.

PC Hobbs, Yes we do but a lot of the time the position is withheld so we can't actually do anything about it, when you or any other member sends a message to the police make sure we can tell where you are! If possible tell us your position in the text so we do not have to waste time working out the co-ords! You have to understand that we have a lot to do aswell as responding to texts. :D  Maybe there could be a new section of the police force that respond to crimes reported by text? Just an idea! I hope this helps!

We definitely do, but please keep in mind that Police is sometimes busy elsewhere, there might be an operation going on for instance. Sometimes we would like to respond, but aren't able to, but that doesn't mean you shouldent inform us. Please keep doing as you do.

Also we get a lot of 999 messages that don't give us much information, just in general: please include location, description of criminals, what they were doing, what cars they have. Do they have guns and if so what kind of guns?

I normally respond as often i can with the following message

Thanks for contacting the Altis Police Department. Unit 03013 led by officer Fabrizio Rizzo Rodrigues Hernandez has been sent on route to your location, to help us, help you, please inform us about all the details you can remember, meanwhile our unit is driving to your location.
- Altis Police Department (Do not answer back on this since this is an automatic generated message, instead contact the officer on the number (999-525-983)
