My PC specs are:

CPU: I7 4790k 4Ghz

GPU: Radeon Sapphire 7970 3GB SOC

Mobo: MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Ram: 16 Gb DDR3

PSU: 750W Corsair

Hard-drives: 1x120GB SSD, 1x 1TB HDD, 1x 500GB HDD

I was thinking about upgrading and getting a GTX 1070, but would it really make a difference?, or should I upgrade something else?

If you are to upgrade GPU, I would recommend upgrading your PSU aswell. However, no real need to upgrade - save your money :)

Agreed, only upgrade if you have the cash floating about and genuinely have a specific reason, otherwise your system should be fine.

I mean i get pretty good FPS, its just I have upgraded in nearly a year and it feels weird, my PSU i got right now is kinda overkill so I dont think i would need to upgrade that.

You wouldnt need a PSU upgrade, but defiantly get a Nvidia card, so much better than AMD, i have found that anyway!

Yea if I do go for an upgrade definitely Nvidia

Lol nvidia fanboi's

I have a Nvidia myself but ALL evidence points towards AMD being a better card down the line. Used to hate ATI for buying up voodoo then Annoyed at AMD for buying ATI, Always had nvidia since the mx2 chip

I'd only upgrade the Graphics Card, that's about it.

If you're looking for straight performance, regardless of budget: NVIDIA 1070/1080.

If you wish to watch the amount you are spending: AMD RX480.

An NVIDIA card straight out of the box will beat AMD. However, AMD's drivers are excellent - and I mean EXCELLENT. AMD are currently killing it with their driver updates, and offer the best improvement in performance via drivers compared to NVIDIA. With the addition of DX12 Asyncronous Computing and Vulkan however, AMD has been able trade meaningful blows with NVIDIA.

About to actually make a new thread on this :) yes my rose tinted glasses on Nvidia have also been dislodged recently ;)

I would go and buy the GTX 1070 but theres no need for a new PSU becuase an AMD card sucks more electricity than the gtx
