difference between a ban and permanent ban

I was reading the rules and out of curiosity I would like to know what the difference is between a ban and a permanent ban, also how long do bans usually last? and is vdm a permanent ban?

All bans are permanent difference is a normal ban you can appeal to get unbanned the same day whilst a permanent ban your not eligible to appeal for 6 months. And just because you appeal dosent mean you will be unbanned

Well technically, all bans are permanent until you appeal them. Normal bans can be appealed straight away while permanent bans can only be appealed 6 months after the ban date. VDM is not a permanent ban, just a standard ban.

A normal unban appeal is where you can post an unban appeal anytime.

A Permenant Ban Appeal carries 6 months from when you were banned. You will then have to fill out a Permenant Ban Appeal once the 6 months are over.
