Hi, i am purchasing a new CPU hopefully sometime this month, i am probably going to get the intel core 17-4770k 3.50 ghz but i was wondering if anyone has this and how it handles Arma 3 on a server such as altislife which consists of 125 players. My current CPU is a Intel Core i5 2400 3.10GHz not overclocked and i get between 15-30fps in kavala on a busy day, i need something cheap(ish) so is the CPU i have chosen any good?

I got i7-4770k over clocked to 4 ghz works fine. What socket does your motherboard have?

Go with the i7 4790k if you going for 1150 Socket remember you will have to change your mother board if you go for different socket  as the i5-2400 is 1155 Socket.

My socket is 1150, i dont know why but i didnt even think about the socket, thanks guys, also is the i7 4790k any good, whats the average frame rate on altis life when its busy

best is to post the model of motherboard you have, that way we can check compatibility, just because its the same socket, doesn't mean it can support all the chips.

The i7 series in general are the higher end CPU's from Intel better than the i3/i5 series, so in answer to your question Arma will run very well on it (being the CPU heavy game Arma is) your frame rate (depending on your GPU) should be 60fps solid, plus because this CPU has overclocking ability you could do as @TikTaksaid, and overclock that badboy to 4 Ghz, you'll have no issues running Arma

i got this CPU and have not clocked it at all and is still spot on
