I like to play legit on al but at the moment go anywhere in a hemmt you get robbed, the other day we tried to sell salt and got jacked.

Anybody got any ideas on how to make money without getting robbed continously.

Had my first hemmt stolen after 20 min and then it got sold with oil still in it.

Have had been killed so many times the new life rules are making me a complete amnesiac :(

Would really like to have safer havens for selling, don't mind the Risc while harvesting and processing so much but people camping the traders is a massive pain in the arse.

have a friend pretending to be selling and if he's being robbed, get the police to clear the area, and stay while you're selling. :)

 
Could get expensive on cars but will give it a go.

Would we not get in trouble for manipulation of the police?

We thought salt would be good due to the close proximity to the prison e.g. Lots of police

 
First thing if you're new is to use a tempest and never a hemtt, because noone can scrap it. Even if someone steals it to do drugs with, police won't scrap it if you have reported it stolen, and if they do you can get it comped.

2nd if you are selling something that might be camped there are ways to get a fighting chance, the stuff that saved me the most is scouting it from a hill as far away as possible while you maintain a good overwatch, and also as you drive closer use your headset as footsteps are very loud. If you hear footsteps from a nearby building call the police and tell them you saw a really scary looking armed man at "inssert trader", followed by what building and floor. Get a distance before you do it though, so not as to tempt them into running at you screaming and waving guns.

 
Get a rebel, like myself to protect you while you're doing it. We'll ask for a % of what you make, say 20%. You could also ask one of the SERCO members to assist, I'm not sure what their asking price is, but they abide by the law - I don't.

 
All these suggestions are really good. Might I also recommend sand, since practically no one is doing it. The risk of being robbed while doing sand is very small, and it is actually quite profitable.

Also police protection is way better than rebel protection, since they wont ask for a cut and you will get in trouble with police if you are travelling with armed rebels.

I'm always getting in touch with the Serco guys for protection because i always end up getting robbed if i'm out alone.

Contact the Whitelisted Rebels for protection and pay them a fee.

I'm sick of the rebels who make it nearly impossible for civs to turn a buck. Cops can only do so much and half the time they do not know what is a legit request and what is a potential ambush when a call comes in.

I'm never going to turn down a new player in need and as a whitelisted rebel I would never double cross you if I escorted you (Will probably take a small fee). But legal activities fall under police duties so I can't talk for the whitelisted rebels as a whole. However if you ever need protection making some real money your more than welcome to contact us  ;) ;)

 
Police can only do so much. Protection is not our thing... It's worth asking the pros.  :D  

... It's what they are there for. (Partly.)

I've recommended this to people on TS who were complaining to me as an admin because they've been robbed half a dozen times in a single restart. They told me they tried and the police haven't done it. I then gave each of them 100K at the airport cashpoint to help them a bit and sent them on there way and while spectating them they were robbed and killed at iron processing about 5-10 minutes later.

Ultimately I would recommend calling the white listed rebels as police mostly congregate around their designated towns and main roads to and from them. Add white listed rebels to the equation and we fill in the gaps outside of towns for civilians and yes we do charge a small fee to cover expenses.

Because not many people ask for it that often, I'm always happy to help the civs doing their legal activities.
