My game will freeze every 5-10 minutes for around 10 seconds - for others ingame it just looks like my car instantly stops, or I'm running on the spot. If someone is speaking in-game when I start to freeze, I will also still be able to haer them while I am frozen but hear no one else during that time. This has been happening since december, and I've already tried moving the game to an SSD and although my FPS is constant, this is the only issue I get now.

Specs:

270GB SSD (loads of free space)

16gb 1600mhz RAM

1TB HDD (where my OS is too)

i7 4790k factory clock

GTX 1070 factory clock

I have similar specs and I used to have this problem. Do you run windows on that SSD? For me the problem seemed to be my 12 year old very shitty HDD that I had windows installed on. I put windows on my SSD and no problems anymore at all.

Nope windows is still on my HDD. I only got the SSD the other week and I've just got Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 and Arma III on it. Would it be the OS though? Every other game seems to run fine and I don't have any problems with general usage.

I'll be honest; I am no expert in any of this. My way of fixing things is just try things that seem to make sense, if it works it works if it doesn't then I blame myself for knowing shit =P.

But for me this worked wonders, but I did have some performance issues with stutters and freezes in BF1 and GTA IV as well, so might have been that my HDD was just very slow and shit.

Again sounds like a page file issue to me.

Yes install windows on your SSD, speeds up so many procedure calls.

i got same PC with gtx980 Strix SuperClocked...

(Different SSD... i got the 840 evo 256gb i believe)
