Hello,

I restored my PC and it wont let me connect to the internet. It says "install driver for your network adapter" when i troubleshoot my connection.

When i go to my devices and try to update the driver I get "Windows could not find driver software for your device" Pretty sure a ethernet cable doesn't need drivers. I've used the same cable since January and when i plugged it in. It was completely fine with no errors. In my devices>Propierties I have "Ethernet Controller" that had a caution sign on it with another 3 that are called "PCI simple communications controller", "SM Bus Controller" and "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller".

I am so confused and stuck.

Please help.

You need the drivers for the various components of your motherboard - the network drivers being one of them.

You'll need to go to the manufacturers webpage, look it up by model, and download them there. Piece of cake.

I cant connect to the internet to lolk them up...

The good old chicken and egg. You'll need another computer/way of downloading them onto a usb stick and then copying them over

or if android, download it to your phone and plug your phone into the computer. 
*edit Ahh crap, Iphone ..... Dont even know if it allows that. not really inclined to find out. Do you know anbody with a Good phone I mean not Iphone ?

i dont see how pluggin a wire into my Pc to my modem means i need to do this n that. Shouldn't it connect straight off the bat

no because the actual controller card for your network needs drivers so the OS knows how to make it work. Plug your iphone in by USB and use USB tethering if you can.

 
so what am i looking for when i connect to the internet

 
Search your network adapter drivers etc by their product page e.g TPLINK

 
should the disk im instaling now let me connect to internet via cable?
