I vaguely recall Dylan complaining that this had happened to him, but my response (as always) would've been to make a comp-request on the forum (as he has done) with any supporting evidence (as he hasn't done!). I do recall him saying that he had no evidence, and me saying something along the lines of 'well, give it a shot - you never know'.
I did make it clear that the decision would be down to the admins on the day, not me (so why he is invoking my name, is not clear to me!)
I will say this, though, now that I've been dragged into this on the forum:
1 - how can Dylan be driving two Tempests at once? Surely, even accounting for him having repeated his first failed oil mission, he's only driving ONE Tempest each time? Maybe he's attempting to claim for his buddy who was driving the other Tempest on each run - but surely that's not allowed. Driver (loser of commodity) makes a claim for HIS own cargo, no?
2 - the tempest(s) didn't get destroyed, just deleted from the gameworld temporarily - i.e it would've been back in garage at the next restart. So the claim must not be claiming for loss of vehicle, only cargo (someone will have to remind me what the Tempest purchase cost and the max cargo-size is for this truck)
3 - the first run was not complete (he doesn't even state whether it was processed or raw product, which will also affect cargo value) - so I am of a mind to say that the second attempt was merely a 're-run' of the first attempt. It's unfair to claim TWO runs' worth of losses here - all he's really lost is some time sucking it out of the ground. If it were the case that he's had to PAY for two sets of raw materials and lost that outlay cash each time, maybe he's got a point, but this isn't the case. He's sucked some oil out of a hole in the ground, driven and bit and lost it in the server-crash. He's got his truck out of garage again, driven back to the hole, sucked some more, driven a bit and lost it again. There's no actual financial cost to him - just an inconvenience in terms of lost time, surely?
In any event, I'd only look to refund ONE tanker load of lost oil (per driver) - at whatever state it was in (unprocessed/processed - different value), not two, because the run was basically just being repeated. It was like the clock was wound back by the first server crash.
Having said that, it's still down to admins to decide... after all, there is no evidence. Normally, that gets a resounding 'GTFO', and just because I said to try a claim, doesn't mean I've given this one a magical get-out-of-jail-free card or anything.
