I've heard good things about http://www.codecademy.com/and I used it myself to learn some basics to see if I would like to go further.

Every year in the summer holidays, I am determined to learn a new hobby/ skill. Not last year but the year before that, I taught myself Java, for coding Minecraft plugins. Last year I joined ALUK, and this year I'm determined to learn the guitar. I would advise using Youtube to learn the basics, and search up tutorials in google, and maybe send for some books on Amazon.

To be honest, It really depends on what your wanting to code, for example games, websites, applications. Then going on to looking at languages related to that

Learn the basics first in a language like C or Java and this is mostly transferable to different languages its just slight changes in the syntax used. Once you have knowledge of things like variables and iterations (loops) and grasp the flow of programs then you can work on scripting as there is a lot of support for this out there especially ArmA III.
As for where you can learn the basics follow youtube tutorials or codecademy is a decent resource for this. This is a decent start for Java http://www.learnjavaonline.org/

TBH, you learn it the fastest when you just do it... I used a lot of youtube to get myselfs the ropes of coding..
