Case Fans

Hey!

I built my computer a week or two ago and it's working perfectly however the fans that came with my case are cheap and when under load, get loud. Currently, I have 3 fans blowing cold air into the case at the front and one sucking the warm air out of the case at the back. Does anyone know any high quality (and ideally quiet) case fans that'll do the job properly? :D

Also, should I install case fans at the top of my PC as well?

Look for fans with High blade count large surface area, and slower speeds.
Also keep an eye on the depth of the fan, no point going for a slimline one. you can also get fans without bearings, but expect a large price jump.
One thing people often forget is rubber grommets !!! GET THEM ;)

here is a good place to start researching what your looking for

Hey HatchingHaywireBird, You could check out SilentWings fans that are on your bequiet CPU cooler, they're obviously pretty hush.

That said - im surprised you think they're loud, the fans that came in my mates NZXT case and which are hooked up to its variable speed controller and silent as the grave on low - do you have them on a controller or directly onto the mobo headers?

They're directly onto the mobo headers. They're not painfully loud but it's noticeable, I reckon it's the extractor fan at the back which gets very loud when the computer gets hot. Either way, I wanna get the highest airflow I can in the case and upgrading the stock fans should achieve that.

Look into either Corsair AF or SP series fans, they're pretty renowned for airflow. The fans that came with my H80i move a TONNE of air, but to do so they spin at 2800RPM and by golly are they noisy bastards.

Does your case have a controller @Haywire ? The one on mym ates case is like a slider type deal.

No controller, but I will look into some of these recommended fans. Thanks!

My pc was way to hot so I just took the side panel off and added loads more fans

How does that thing not take off into the skies xD

But yeah, I got my temperature OSD working and I am shocked that my CPU is reaching temperatures up to 100! Defiantly going to add some more fans and check the heatsink is working fine. Also gonna do some cable management.

Just went into the bios and set the CPU cooler and case fans to work at their max settings. HUGE decrease in temperature! About 30-35 degrees idle and up to 60 degrees under load.

Other than noise, do you know any negative effects of running the fans on max? Thanks for the help :p
