Cars vanishing when left in a safe place

Hi all!

So we left a car on the dock whilst we went to a ship wreck and when we came back it had gone, Stolen u may say, but it also happened to a hemmit truck outside my house and to a chopper near coke processing, we left them for a short while, and when we returned they had gone.

i doubt they were all stolen as a hemmit takes a bunch of lock picks to get into

is there a limit on the distance you can leave something whilst you do something else?

Cheers

more likely a police officer has impounded them

Or at worst scrapped them, but I believe they need a good reason to do so

A hemtt does not always need a bunch of lock picks to get into.

But I recognize your problem and I think there is a cleanup script but they where supposed to turn it down a notch. And I have noticed an improvement, before a bunch of my vehicles got restored to garage while being away from them and it was quite annoying to return and find your vehicle full with drugs, gold or maybe a weapon put into it dissapered and returned to garage and everything in it lost.

And I think I read that now vehicles with something in them except hex with tool kit was not supposed to be cleaned up. So maybe the thing is to just put something in the trunk and they might stay?

That could have happened but I posted about it in the bug section after several vehicles had despawned back to garage for me.
I don't think they were stolen as they were back in garage and did not see any impound message but I could have missed them but not so many times it occured and the police should have searched them and find the drugs if they were suspicious and scrapped them. Also happened to ifrits a couple of times and them the police would make sure to scrap.

Anyway Ciaran said there is a cleanup script on "abandoned" vehicles and that he was supposed to take a look at it and after that I haven't lost any vehicles, but I have not left them as much either because I'm afraid they gonna be restored to garage so maybe the problem is still there or it may be still there but less frequently.

Not sure what kind of person you are if you get sad over gold.

It was lowered to 5KM away (And the car had to be damaged) yet this lead to the immense amount of FPS drop and lag. So we put it back down to the origin one. Yet I have not figured a way to really tell if a car is "Abandoned" or Parked Up. There is no way to tell really.

Leaving vehicles dotted around the map always has been a FPS killer.... if you plan to return to a vehicle then don't park it so far away.

What do you mean? Why wouldn´t I get sad, it´s a high risk to get it and it´s worth a lot of money?

Think everyone would be sad if they lost gold.

What is the origin distance (you say "origin one" do you mean origin 1km or just origin value, sorry if I don´t understand) and the car has to be damaged right for being cleaned up? So if I park it within that distance it should not dissapear even if it´s damaged? And if I repair it when I park it can I then park it outside the cleanup distance?

Yeah I understand it is a problem but stuff like gold and drugs I don´t want to park close to populated area where the dealers are located and it is a bummer to get back to your truck after selling some at the dealer and find it gone with all the drugs in it after all the time youve spent gathering and processing.

But I heard some talk about that if your vehicle gets restored to garage after restart or something the goods will still be inside it? This was not the case when I got my vehicles restored but it is maybe that now and then the problem is not that severe.

Can somone confirm that the inventory in your vehicle is saved when it is restored to garage if the server restarts or it´s being cleaned up?
