Is there anyway to carry more stuff other than buying a bigger backpack? Im sure iv saw someone selling a lot more salt then i could in one go even with the largest backpack! thanks guys.

There is a couple of skills that allow you to increase your capacity even without wearing a backpack!
They are named 'Strong bag' and can be found in-game by pressing 'Y' and then clicking on 'Skills'. Every 5 skill points spent in Strong bags equals 5 capacity, to a maximum of 15 extra capacity.
