So as the title says I'm not able to change the resolution nor the refresh rate on my monitor.
(some back story)
I bought an acer xg270hu after my main monitor broke. After setting it up by plugging it in etc I noticed the quality was horrible. So relised my resolution was set to 1920x1080, When then trying to change it to 2560x1440 (which is the recommended settings for my monitor) the screen turns black then a "no signal" message pops up then it reverts back to 1920x1080. At one point it did say the setting combination made it not work and to try a new one but that didn't work either. I tried to re install my gpu drivers and my monitors drivers etc. So everything is up to date.
Settings I tried to change it to when I got the error
scale at 100%
resolution at 2560x1440
and then orientation was set to laying down.
then my pc specs
GPU: gtx 980 strix
CPU: i-5 4690k
PSU: Corsair RM850X 850W
and running on windows 10 x64
Does anyone know any possible fixes?
