Cannot Connect to Servers?

Hello,

I understand that the Launcher is no longer being used to connect to the servers, however i cannot find any other way to connect. I went on the servers tab on the website and clicked Join Server 1 and the steam application loads but it says it cannot connect to the server. 

I have attached a screenshot of what message i get from steam.

Please could someone help me or point me in the right direction.

What happens if you try to Direct Connect from arma client itself?

Have you never connected to any server through arma itself? Well you should try that, go to direct connect and type in the IP and the port and try connecting.

i am Toms friend and we are trying to do this together and when i try to join a server i always get this message pop up and then just a blank arma 3 screen.

Have you got any Mods installed? If so, disable them.  I'd also recommend you do a game verify on steam

i managed to get it working by uninstalling the very old wastland launcher i had installed and so far its working

It's strange that a separate launcher was affecting it for Luke? I'm yet to try joining because i'm working but will let you know if connecting directly works tonight.
