Can the police start to act more like police.

My immersion is completely being ruined and so are numerous other players that I speak to on the server.

The police are acting like nothing more than gang members who are allowed to get away with anything they want and use weapons freely.

I regularly here them calling people c*nts and di*kheads and telling them to go f*ck themselves.

Twice in the last week I have been tased off my bike going at speed, this is not only life threataning for my character but also other road users.

An officer this morning asked me if i like BBQ's cos next time he has one hes going to throw me on it.

Police do not act in this way, this is a serious UK Roleplay server and if a UK officer acted in half the way these thugs do then they would be fired immediatley.

They are on an always have to win mentality no matter the danger they cause or the risk to peoples lives.  They also think they can get away with what they want because they have a badge.

THIS IS NOT HOW POLICE OFFICERS BEHAVE

We might as well remove all police off the server and they can just be another gang in the city.  People are already moving to other servers because of this behaviour and nothing being done about it.

Senior officers or admins need to sort this out, or for the guys on the streets, dont roleplay a cop if you want to be a need to win, power mad thug.

The oath of a police officer in the UK is as follows.

“I do solemnly and sincerely declare and affirm that I will well and truly serve the Queen in the office of constable, with fairness, integrity, diligence and impartiality, upholding fundamental human rights and according equal respect to all people; and that I will, to the best of my power, cause the peace to be kept and preserved and prevent all offences against people and property; and that while I continue to hold the said office I will to the best of my skill and knowledge discharge all the duties thereof faithfully according to law.”

Follow this or dont even bother.  Does anyone want to comment or does anyone have any ideas as to how this will be sorted as its currently the main thing that is ruining this server.

You haven't made a single police complaint. That would be the first step, actually trying to solve these problems IC. If the police don't know this is happening, the police cannot deal with it and just like anything else, this needs to be attempted to be solved IC before it gets to OOC.

If you're not making complaints in-game, there's not really much to be done.

Yeah like phoenix said, most of the things you are listing are IC issues and should be dealt with IC, unless you feel they are breaking rules then feel free to report them on forums 🙂

 
It’s just a suggestion, I have stopped ic to tell police officers that they are out of order I just get told to go away and mind my own business.  I’m not going to report every cop who doesn’t act like a cop ir I would spend more time on here than in game.  This part of the forum is called GTARP suggestions.  I am suggesting that the police act more like police should.  It’s a server wide issue. There are a good few, but in my experience and the people I speak too the majority need to learn how to rp their positions properly.  That is my suggestion.  Not my complaint 

 
Yeah I completely understand where you're coming from but if it's a case of police misconduct, again, it's something that would need to be dealt with in character.

But you get told to go away and mind your own business or you will be arrested.surely it’s better to fix the problem as a whole and set the standard?

 
Coming from someone who plays almost predominantly Police and has for almost 2 Years now I get what your saying. I do, from when i first joined, the professionalism was really good and police drove well, acted well and did well and its slowly diminished over time. I get its a game and we are here to have a laugh and have fun but when its meant to be serious RP at least act the role around people. My pet hate is police who just take the piss non stop all the time and leave no room for professionalism or drive around like idiots blasting music and then have the audacity to complain when gangs give them shit RP etc. But as @1000Phoenixsaid, they are in character issues and the only genuine way there will be a turn around is through in game complains and viable role play.

Coming on the forums is honestly no place to solve it other than to vent at how frustrated you are. What you have seemed to be witnessing is appearing to be common from what ive read but I assure you that is a very very small fraction of the police. Just getting unlucky I guess. There Is some officers of lower rank and high rank who I have been blown away with their level of knowledge and their commitment to police RP. Its just like any other person in the server, there is always twats that are here to "Frag" or get an ego boost from fake rank stripes but again its a small minority. My suggestion is in RP record these situations and make complaints and make them often. Thats the only real way to make a change.

You physically cannot be denied the ability to write a complaint at the front desk of MRPD. It is very difficult to ensure quality roleplay from all police officers all the time, if you feel that roleplay provided from someone within a whitelisted faction is piss poor and effortless, then feel free to make player reports which should hopefully give them a wake up call.

Not much can be done about what you're trying to do since it is simply just an in character issue and it cannot be solved through forums.

i get your point. But this isnt a suggestion this is just a rant. server rules are not gonna make police behave more.if anything drop numbers as worried theyll get banned for something stupid. deal with it in character we have a whole department now based around professional standards

 
Personally I blame the shut down of AC01, the LSPS seems to have fully gone downhill since then knowing there won't be proper repercussions since then.

EDIT: In addition to the above, this doesn't appear to be a suggestion, but more of a general RP Related Topic.

This is simply not true, the current primary issue that's ruining the server is the mental state surrounding Roleplay and the quality of Roleplay being provided by those that were once Tier 1 Roleplayers, as standards drop, much like sheep the rest will follow, and yes this does apply to the LSPS as well, and then secondly the other issue is the weapons changes, they've majorly killed motivation for the cops as crims now carry AK's and Sig's and other automatic weaponry on the regular which immediately puts cops at a disadvantage, and then there's the win mentality from cops that also needs to change, and then finally the "shoot first" meta, whereby one party instead of de-escalating a situation (this includes crims!) would rather fire the first shot that kicks off 3 days worth of Gunplay over Roleplay and several lengthy TS conversations as well.

The LSPS has been going downhill since before the shut down of AC01.

(My own opinion, not that of staffs)

Everyone seems to have the same opinion that it was when shepperd left, atleast thats what i hear most people say.

I also do agree that AC01 being disbanded made it even worse though.

TLDR Command needs changing.

Maybe bringing AC01 back will solve the issues then??

 
From what I've seen/experienced, when higher-ups/command are acting unprofessional or not setting standards, then the ground troops (those out patrolling) will follow the same sort of behaviour.

 
should be sorted ingame, mentalities of police(no matter the rank) will most likely not change because a new rule exists
