Can not place storage box

i recently bought a house for 500k which can hold one storage box but when i went to place a storage box it said "you need to be inside your house to place this.". any ideas?

Go inside and press Y>storage box>use and I believe that places it.

If not you may already have reached the maximum amount of boxes to go inside that property/ maybe you are using a large box when it should be a small.
