Broken Weapons/Equipment Police

Recently I have been robbing cops as part of my character's storyline and character development, and I have noticed that it's not very clear how to actually steal the equipment from a cop without it breaking, for example recently I made a cop pass me all of this gear directly to me yet his taser and baton still broke. I have rp'd around the city to find out how to actually get a cop's gear and many have told me to put it directly into the trunk of a car, yet the government don't like this method, I'm assuming this means it's against the rules but I'm not sure. My suggestion is, the whole way of taking equipment from a cop should be very simple (besides firearms), all they should have to do is hand it over and you get the loot without any of the "cops have technology that makes it break when they're not holding it" nonsense, it's not exactly like criminals have such high-tech gear so why should it be fair that the cops do? The current system in place I feel limits RP and makes many situations unnecessarily annoying for players.

Also, an extra point, I don't believe putting a firearm in an evidence bag should break the gun.

Pros: Better RP, crims get some lovin, removes awkward interactions, cops get a little nerf

Cons: Cops may be targeted more often

The major problem with this was cops were targeted constantly over and over again and robbed like 10 times a day and they just became vending machines, left people crying and refusing to roleplay as police ,was the same with G6 people just sat at the key shop and robbed every G6 that went up there, robbed every G6 that walked out the front of the prison gates. It's shit and offers no roleplay.

I dont necessarily mean allow us crims to take guns easy, I'm more talking tazers and batons btw

Having spent a year+ playing cop, the change was made because we were vending machines. Every shift was just getting robbed multiple times a day, no RP just "hands up, dont panic" robbed, rinse and repeat.

However, I do agree some changes would be nice. The current system of items breaking is just luck. You have a slim chance of getting the equipment as fully working, with a higher chance it breaks I believe.

What would be nice, is that there be an option with the correct skills, tools and knowledge to be able to repair the broken equipment. This woildnt be easy, and require materials, time, locations along with the knowledge and correct skill level to complete this.

Ultimately nobody wants cops being turned into vending machines again with poor rp, it wasn't fun for anyone and put a lot of people off playing as a cop. However making changes to be able to fix or just break down the weapons for parts would be something new and refreshing for people.

This was implemented to break a gun meta that was on the server couple of months back.

I remember when they were craftable. The moment is was not possible anymore, the cops had become vending machines. The meta didn't change much. Now..

Now you can still have guns and they are still obtainable, just not as easy as before.

I think a gun on every baddies' hand is dangerous,  dangerous for the people, dangerous for the server. If you are in a gang, eventually you will find ways to get guns..and to be honest, way better then glocks 😉

That said. -1 from me

I've changed my original post slightly so it says "besides firearms" instead as in this post I'm more talking about tazers and batons.

The system wasn't in place originally however was implemented to stop cops being "vending machines", we may re-evaluate this sometime in the future and remove it if we see fit however this will need to be discussed within the dev team.

Putting a weapon in an evidence bag doesn't break it... Find out in RP 😉

From a cops perspective i enjoy the RP but with gangs in the city at this moment of time we would just be vending machines. We roleplay to get a fun experiance to and in europe and the UK you would have a hard time getting guns from cops? I feel this would make RP shit for the cops and would make less people want to roleplay as a cop therefor it would be a crime ran city? Personal thoughts but today its a -1

yes.

tasers are almost more annoying for crims to have compared to pistols(imo) they can't kill you, but they can keep you on the ground forever, or atleast until they are bored of it, is it shit RP? sure, but it can be done with RP if done correctly
Batons are eh, might aswell go buy a knife, atleast you have a slight chance of a insta kill

all in all, if people literally didn't call police "vending machines" ingame at some point we probably wouldn't have had this change to begin with

As police, you basically have to be looking over your shoulder 24/7 anyway or risk getting nabbed. I remember the other day I went on a foot patrol, I didn't even make it past Noble Stores before some guys on bikes tried to rob me. Another example is when I was doing a routine traffic stop and 2 random people ride up on a  bike and try to hold me up. Point is that this would only make it even worse - police issue equipment isn't even that good compared to criminal weapons and the unique pieces of our kit like tasers or baton launchers aren't really meant for crims anyway.
