Why?

  • Smaller map so running isn't a bitch.
  • Smaller map so more suited to less people.
  • Nice Woodlands for bases.
  • A change from Altis.
  • Beautiful FPS.
 
I love Epoch and have invested quite a bit of time into it. I'd love to try another map BUT I think Epoch is running really well and i know a few people who have built bases so I'd be sad to see that work gone... 

 
Not sure if its just lately but people have built bases but the server currently is just PvE the only thing you are going to come across is zombies not many people seem to play it for some reason even though epoch is great :/

Yes my base is (was) fully built, it just needs a bit of life added into it to make it as enjoyable as it was in the first 2 weeks

Totally agree mate. The House of Lord Sandisk are active on there but they are often the only ones. It's a crying shame but I fear a change of map will only prove popular for a matter of days and by then you'll have lost everything. 

The issue is getting people to play on the server. Epoch is amazing but it is a steep learning curve. I'm not sure why folks joined and left but I don't think it's the map. I've played on a few ArmA 3 Epoch servers and used to be Admin for @FriendlyFireGuy's server... I love it but filling the server slots ain't easy and I don't know why. I've not been on for a few days but I'm always keen to play when i can. 

 
Just a note: I no longer have a server (just in case! Ditched it years ago, being an admin is a full time job and I already have a full time job!!)

But yeah, was always a chicken and egg thing, could always stick a little banner on here somewhere: Altislife Servers Full? Try our EPOCH server.....

Yeah the Server was defunct about a year ago! I was the ban hammer guy.  :D  

But we saw a big rise and fall in the population. We also got a lot of arseholes who simlpy destroyed everything created by everyone else - Which is of course fun but it destroys a community after a while. 

To be fair @Lord SanDisk was one of those people AND he was an admin. I remember one night he spawned in some vehicle with popup rockets and obliterated the other side of the map and destroyed some of the regular player's base - Which led to a war. Which led to the downfall of the server.

I really miss Epoch and would love to go back to it, its just finding those who will join. If all of one gang jumped out, I've no doubt more will come, but its getting the chain reaction started..
