Wilco stated on another post that due to the arma update there is an issue with the connector of the database or something similar. I'm pretty sure Ciaran is finding a solution for this

If you are on a black screen just wait, the server will catch up to you at some point, at this time leaving and reconnecting i can confirm will not get you in any quicker it will just make the queue longer as even though you have left and come back the server is still going to process your original request.

Our developer is currently working on a custom DB connector built for AltisLife.co.uk which should fix these issues which have only started since the Arma 3 1.38 update.

We will announce when that is ready to be released on the server.

I get this, but aborting back to lobby and relogging worked for me. Have to do it a couple of times but it works

The problem is, when a player joins, gets the black screen and then aborts, that persons information will still be retrived by the server which in return attempts to find the person to relate it too. It's a circle that's caused by people who are impatient!

But still. It's an issue. Obvioualy you can avoide it by relogs or simply waiting but problem isn't going to be solved this way.

Well, it will be - the less people disconnecting the less you'll encounter it. It's a direct effect that can come to a swift end if people had a bit more patience. I usually make a cup of tea or go for a cigarette while I wait for it.

I waited 1 whole hour yesterday and I didn't even get in.

I logged in for 20 minutes due to reports of someone shooting in that time.
During which, I watched people join (We can see your character on spawn island), wait 2 minutes, abort and then reconnect. This is the issue. People joining, not being patient, aborting and joining again.

People doing this, over and over again is what causes you to wait on this black screen as the server still attempts to obtain the information related to the player ID and then attempts to return that data to the player, who is no longer there.

The more people who do this instead of waiting, the longer the time increases.

Shame you can't lock the abort screen (like it gets locked when you're handcuffed) when you're waiting, people aren't going to use other methods to abort as they'll not get back into the server if it's at peak time.

Yeah, problem with that would be people who genuinely need to leave, like the idea though. A script that disables input.
