SO... today I logged onto the altis server to find that the drug dealers have been moved into towns, I have no idea why you did this due to the reasons of cops being able to stop you easily and you can not use helis for drugs anymore as you cant land into cities to sell the drugs.

I would love this changed as soon as possible.

Anyway so I was doing some coke runs, when I landed in kavala next to the drug dealer, the server started getting populated so when I got out of my chopper to sell the drugs a vdmer drove his atv into my orca and blew it up I have a recording of it but I most likely wont be able to post it as I have trouble sorting it out but I will try.

also when I started talking to the person who did it he said that he's been trolling on this server for a long time....

his name was: {YPD} TheBadger

I hope this can be sorted out as soon as possible

Ninj... check your garage/hangar... You might be in for a treat.

Just so's you know, if the vehicle was a permanent, it should return to your garage after being destroyed. It may not happen immediately - it will depend on either the cops finding the wreck and impounding it, or the next server-restart to clean up the mess and return it (fixed) to your hangar. (Your busy little code-monkeys have been repairing the vehicle handling system so that it works 'as intended', rather than the non-working mess that was shipped out with the Altis Life core originally!)

Checking the live database, it looks like you have THREE helicopters already now - thanks to some of the previously-lost ones having been recovered. Maybe you didn't spot them in your hangar today? Go look again and let me know what you see. You *should* see an Orca and a Hummingbird... and you have another Orca (the one that was VDMed today) marked as still active in the game-world, which is probably a wreck. This will be cleaned up automatically at server-restart or by an officer in due course, and should return).

Consider it a side-effect of the APD getting their shit together and launching a fullscale attack on the Lost Property Department in the island, and mass-recovering (literally) hundreds of vehicles. In return, the APD also had a mass purge on the dealers. Jesus is now in the Altis Correctional Institution as a long-term inmate (but given that he's a grass, he will probably not be there for too long, or will be singing like a canary). No dealers are currently gutsy enough to set up shop out in the sticks anymore, because their cover is insufficient, and the cops knew where they all were. Sadly, as is the nature of the world, new dealers have sprung up - including a bent vicar and a dodgy newsagent, and these little scrotes are far more city-based than their predecessors. As a result, while they have the added advantage of providing 'cover in plain sight' for people doing deals with them, they also mean that long-term sellers of drugs need to rethink a few strategies in order to successfully trade with them, without getting spotted. Might I suggest that landing a heli full of crack on the town square is probably not quite the degree of subterfuge necessary in this brave new world! :)

As the marines say... "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome." ;)

A man of your resourcefulness will find a way, I'm sure. And who knows... perhaps when the cops have a handle on these new dealers and things stagnate again, maybe other dealers will spring up again out in the sticks... but you can guarantee nothing will stay the same forever. Complacency Kills, Variety Thrills...

ok thank you, I will look in my garage and have a look for them and then report back.

About the drug dealers though If your moving them around that's ok I guess its just the fact that I didn't hear about this and thought they will be staying there forever and that I am not used to it being so difficult xD but being a experienced drug lord I have already found a few ways to sell my drugs without being spotted.

So this means there will be no more landing a heli right next to the drug dealer like the good old days :L

Fraid not, buddy, but then you wouldn't want it to get boring, would you? :)

For ref, Asdrubael posted about the drug-dealer changes in last night's Update thread... Same with the vehicle recovery thing. Do let me know if you find your lost choppers. Should make a pretty penny selling your spares, eh? :)

Hang on, I'm sure I read Wilco, or someone else state that vehicles that had been blown up/wrecked etc wouldn't return to the garage. So wrecked vehicles DO return? This would explain why I suddenly had 2 HEMTT's after one blew up and I grudgingly bought another..

(Sorry to jump into this thread but I felt an overwhelming urge to ask this)

This wrecked vehicle thing kinda goes against the RP instead why don't you get the value of the scrap metal of the car/truck

Why should doing drug deals be easy as landing a chopper next to them ?

No No No! if your taking the dodgy routes to making money then its massive risk for big rewards....

Now stay away from those Turtles... as the turtle price is due to ROCKET! past all known drug levels thanks to a number of Asians moving into Kavala and wanting turtle soup for there dinners...  rabbit stew just doesnt cut it..

However this becomes a risky business so the turtle dealers are moving nearer to the asians so they are not the ones getting caught

Jay/Price, yes, I sort of agree, but that's the way Tonic's vanilla Altis Life code was meant to work, it seems.

I always assumed that once a vehicle was wrecked, whether it was a permanent or not, that was that - it was gone. But it appears (now that I have fixed the broken bit of Tonic's code which basically left all vehicles in limbo after a server-restart - and which affects 100% of Altis Life servers out there, unless they know how to fix it), that permanent MEANS permanent.

I guess the inconvenience of having to trudge all the way back to a garage (which can sometimes be many miles away) is considered enough hardship, if you spent extra to get the perma-vehicle.

It all depends on the 'alive' flag for a vehicle - and at the moment, the only time a vehicle's 'alive' status is removed, is if it is sold at a garage or a chop-shop. It could be altered, I suppose, but it'd need an admin decision first.
