Basics for rp

I'm thinking of jumping back in the game. I did this a few months back, and right after i joined someone told me to put my hands up "or otherwise he will shoot me". I tried pressing almost every button in hope that my character will put his hands up. I tried to ask the person how to do it but he kept yelling at me to put my hands up. After a few seconds he shot me. 

So because i don;t want that to happen again, I want to know some basics. I remember that you can : put your hands up, holster your gun and knock someone out if you have a gun in your hand, but i don;t remember how. I see that every server has different key bindings for this, that's why i'm asking you guys. Also if there are other things that i should know feel free to tell me.

Well Welcome back to the community @joshspace. So going over your topic. You will see that @SUR Raptor linked a topic that I will also link below on this post to help you know the controls for the server. Now just pointing out within your question you said that someone said 'hands up or otherwise he will shoot me'. There is a rule regarding this kind of roleplay as such if that is all you seem to be receiving.

The rule in question would be here - (7.1.3) Killing someone must be carried out with high roleplay, “put your hands up or I will shoot” etc is considered low RP and may lead to a ban for RDM/Fail RP.
