Bail

Brief Summary: having the ability to be released on bail from custody

Detailed Suggestion: much like real life the ability to post bail for those arrested pending investigation.

The Pros: will give police more RP having to interview witnesses, build a case, utilise the court system more and have the judge hand down the sentence, it major cases have a jury with both defence and prosecution putting forward their evidence.

increases RP for police by having to build a case, increases frontline officers conducting interviews and evidence gathering and having to work together with CID for major cases.

The Cons: solicitors not being online, judges not being online

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ? Yes

I would love to see more police do some investigations. There is the opportunity for those who want to but I just see a lot of em shaking innocent drug dealers down for money.

The problem is the prison sentences are probably shorter irl time than it takes to build a case. There is the game/reality balance, either the prison will change so the time there is massively increased and there is more actual roleplay/depth than "I log out and log in the other day". Or the meaning of a prison will stay as it is and the effort the investigation (building a case) would take to imprison someone for 500 months is not really worth it.

I think it's worth considering regardless of this. I don't disagree from a practical perspective, but to improve RP I think it's worth looking at a what the options could be. RP would improve for everyone involved, including criminals, because they would need to get creative with how they do things. This could also lead to other gameplay loop improvements.

On the point of Judges and Solicitors, I would argue a duty schedule could be a solution. Depending on what your day is like, just having someone available on Discord for answering questions helps out. As for ingame RP, the schedule is a good way for everyone to know who should be available and a good way to get a commitment from people.

My 2 cents.

EDIT: Just thought of something as I pressed post. A bail system would also be a good way to try and manage the game money sinks. Not sure what the economy is like (having not been on for too long) but being able to go fishing for a few hours to buy a £150000 car seems a bit off, when a glass of water is £150.
