Okay, so recently i have been having really bad FPS problems. I always used to get 60+ but now its like i can barely reach 40. I get random lag spikes and will drop to around 5-10 frames for a few seconds? I dont really know how to fix this. I have a i5-4460 an a 980ti. I dont know how to fix this? Does anyone know why i may be getting this?

Was it on the server #1 #2 #3 or on any game

If it was on the server, then its alright me and my friend had it to yesterday I had around 40+ frames no around 20-30

I have always had this on Arma.

I usually get around 30 fps in kavala and 40 outside running on high graphics.

I am constantly getting these strange lag spikes which drop me to 10-15 fps for around 5 seconds and whenever I get into a close quarter combat situation, my game completely shits on itself and I have to just hold down the mouse and hope...

My specs : AMD A8-6600k (3.9 ghz quad core) Saphire R7 260X (OC) 6gb RAM (DDR3) 1tb Hard drive  (unsure of speeds etc.)Windows 8.1

All servers on Arma 3

Try to see if your cards are overheating by downloading a program that monitors your pc parts you can like make the fans spin faster but also remember

Arma 3 is a CPU heavy game so it may be ur cpu and also the coding for Arma 3 is not the best but still there are allot of things

What are your settings on arma 3

and on the servers your view distance these things ar every heavy on your pc bc they load things in  from far away.

I dont know but I hope this will solve it Good luck with it if I find  a solution I will either pm u or post it on this topic

6000 and very high... but even on high i still encounter the problem

Try to put the view distance lower bc it highers your normal  view settings aswell

for example

In the settings tab you have it on 3000 but on the servers u use the settings tab u know if u press 6 on aluk  and u put 6000 it does this 6000+3000 = 9000

Same kinda happens with me, however when ever I look at a ragdoll (dead body) I will get constant lag spikes from around 50 to 4 continuously.

Idc how to explain that only that it is something  inside the code probz because the player is a variable if he dies it changes completely

Yea Miller is right... I used to play this game on my laptop with a I7 clocked at 2.4 Ghz *o*. Barely came over 20 fps.

Now with my new computer I'm running like 70+ fps on ultra graphics.

My specs:

I7 4790k clocked at 4.0 Ghz (4.4 Ghz turboboost)

MSI GTX 970

16 gb ram

250 gb SSD (samsung cause I like cheap)

on windows 10

Note that windows 10 gives your cpu a small boost because of new technology that makes your cores run faster.

Of course the server takes a lot fps away because there are 125 players online in the evening.

From my expererience you should get a better CPU but first try to solve it in any other way because good CPU's are expensive. :)

I had this problem, my pc was overheating and i tried fixing it. Well it died and now i got a new one, keep care of your cooling guys!
