Arma 3 won't update (connection timeout)

My game won't update to the most recent patch so I cannot play Altis Life or any other server, It starts the download but no  bytes are downloaded it just sits at 0 bytes. Then after a while it comes up with some steam error message saying "connection timeout". Is there anything I can do to solve this?

Someone else had this issue, being no expert my non expert advise was uninstall/redownload + reinstall

My crappy download speed would take forever to re-install Arma. Is it the only possible way? I have googled this and seen the same advise and people saying it hasn't worked.

I had the same issue, and tried all sorts to fix it, had had to re download it. works fine now

Not trying to sound like the smart guy here but have you tried changing steam download server? maybe that will fix this.

Had to uninstall my Arma, and then reinstall

Yeh I re-downloaded and installled again however it took all night Oh well it's over.
