I've seen posts all over the forum with people saying "will ArmA 3 run well on a XYZ spec'd machine" and I always cringe when I see people saying they get 60 fps on a potato and I know the OP of the thread will be disappointed when they buy said potato and don't in fact get 60 fps.
How about we all run Helo's Altis benchmark mission for the stock settings on High, Very High and Ultra for 1920x1080 and/or 1920x1200 (as they are the most common gaming resolutions now according to the steam survey) and we put all the results in this thread. Helo's benchmark is as close as I've seen to the ALUK server, if you're getting 60 fps in the campaign and 30 fps on ALUK, expect this benchmark to be closer to ALUK than normal single player.
This way for a particular hardware build you can see what kind of performance to expect and people buying new hardware to play with us on ALUK can get some real hard data on what to spend their hard earned cash on.
HOW TO GET THE MISSION
Before you run the benchmark please head into Configure > Video and in the overall quality dropdown change it to the desired preset (High, Very High or Ultra), ensure the resolution is 1920x1080 or 1920x1200, turn vysnc off and change it to fullscreen (not windowed). Change NOTHING else.
RUN THE BENCHMARK
Once you've done all the above, please post the results in this thread with either a link to your showcase thread or a list of your computer hardware and any overclocks (consider creating a thread in the showcase forum if you haven't already!) and over time I will tabulate the results in the 2nd post in this thread.
ANYTHING ELSE?
If you run with exotic command switches (i.e. you use a custom memory allocator etc) please put the switches in with the results. Any other settings should be the defaults as per the presets.
If you don't wish to change your settings before running the benchmark please don't post as they are completely useless for the sake of comparison.
Also, it'll become more obvious over time if you inflate your results (this thread is to help people not a competition) and I'll include a name and shame section if it ends that way.
