Anybody in the army or looking to join in the future

Some people play this game based on its military aspects and how you could relate some parts of the game to real life scenarios. I was wondering if anybody in the RP community was in their army where they live, or looking towards it in the near future. Like my self I had applied 2 months ago for a scholarship to Sandhurst for swimming at the age of 16. Just curious if anybody Is or was or hopefully looking to join their army.

In order to answer your question, i'm working in the Danish Defence, as a seargent for recruits who joins the army at the age of 18, and we undergo training based on the danish standards within a limited time, in regards to the game here, i've been told it's based on a military Sandbox, which contains the ideas of military warfare.

I can relate to the part with running around with backpacks, throwing smoke grenades, combat stances etc etc, but all in all, i think it depends on where you're from, we train to figth in the dark and from the woods, aswell with the situation in Afghanistan, we also train by figthing in compounds and looking for IED's.

I'll be honest and say it's hard to say if we can relate to the game, since this is an RP server that i've dedicated my last 4-5 years on, and i can already tell you now, i've never driven a quadbike, or getting deployed in a prowler/quillin from a VTOL.

If you got any specific areas you think is relateable, ask away and i'll do my best to put a clear view on it.

Hey Fabrizio very interesting story about your current Army affairs, in the Danish Defence I'm sure you probably know how to lead a platoon considering your role as seargent, and showing 18 year old what you guys really do over there. so where about's are you deployed or have you been on any tours?

'you could relate some parts of the game to real life scenarios.'

I didn't mean to put it that way I shouldn't had said that since besides the ammunition nothing else is really relevant to that. I posted this since I was curious if others had the same passion I do or were already in that passion. Sorry to relate what happens in the real world to a military sand box. But overall I am very curious about others and if we have the same aspects.

Leaving June 3rd for boot camp
Well all I can say is good luck Robert, is this in America? and how long will the boot camp be?

I sure do know how to lead a squad  (consisting of 6 including myself) I've not been deployed yet, due to the danish defence is split up in alot of section, when you train the new 18 years, the chance of deployment is minimal, considering if you're training the professional soldiers, then you'll train in 8 months with them, and then there is a risk of getting deployed at some stages, both nationally and internationally, currently our proffesional trained soldiers are being deployed to both Afghanistan, and Estonia, and small amount of soldiers in Kosovo, that is mainly where we operate, myself have not been on a tour yet, but soonTM, the only deployment  i can brag about is in the NW part of Denmark on a 14 day exercise, but that is pretty much it for time being.
