Any tips for beginner RP'ers?

Hello everyone,

I've been quite a few times on the servers and I understand the game and the rules but I suck at role playing.
When I go online to play, I don't really know what to say to people most of the time. I'm not the most talkative person in real life either but ffs I should be able to do it in an only game right!?
How did most of you guys start out? Did it take you a while to get used to the whole RP thing or does it just come naturally?
I'd like to be a medic but I've seen the application form and I know I won't be accepted because of my poor RP skills.

Any tips?

Surround yourself with people who talk alot then you dont have to talk as much  :D  JK.

I would apply to be a medic if I was you, if anything it will help you develop your RP skills as pretty much every situation you get in will involve RP, that and you will get to patrol with people who can help you 'better' your RP :)

 
Join a group is the best advice I can give you. The second I joined AEGIS my roleplay quality went up and I was no longer just another hobo. I had a defined role to play on the server and it made it easier to roleplay! 

As soon as you feel ready and/or bored of whatever you're doing now and want something to freshen up then I suggest joining the police or NHS for a completely different style of roleplay!

As for Strictly Roleplay, I would try and throw yourself into your character.  If you struggle to figure out what type of person you want to be, write out a character sheet;

Character Name:

Age: 

Male / Female 

One Sentence Description:

Interests:

Dislikes

Why you are on this Island: 

Fill that in on a word document and you would of painted yourself a nice character profile and then all that is left to do is reread the rules so you dont make any mistakes, and then you are off! 

Be the person you want to be, and enjoy yourself.  If you find yourself getting to worked up / annoyed, take a break and watch a movie, see how the different characters are acted in there and see what you can bring to the server :)

the police force in the police you get to meet the most amount of people from it being rowdy hobo's to the high end gangs usually ever Encounter is different and along the way you will see the different types of role play 

police rules give you the guide lines and there easy to follow 

get your self on patrol with @KevinP @DI Brandon @Quinn @Elliot @John Will (think that's his name) 

From experience these cops will keep you entertained and teach you along the way

My best advice is don't try, when the RP starts, just go with it, and let it flow, if you put too much thought into it, you'll get into hardship, let it flow and enjoy it are the 2 most important tips
