Any point In joining the Medics?

Hello there Ladies and Gents, just a quick little rant I guess.

So I completed my medic application on July 9th and thus since then have been trying to get my Interview done (Seems stright foward right?)

My expectation was that I'd maybe haved to wait about 30mins for a Interview but I was fine with that since I was really excited about joining the medics, only to find out that after hours and hours and hours of waiting that that'd not be the case, I've waited approx In total about 6 hours in the waiting room for my Interview (I tried messaging GP's and the CMO they never respond, I've always waited at peak times 5-8 In the evening) I've spoke with alot of my colleagues In the police force and they all say the same thing "There's no point In joining the medics" Does anyone else have the same problem? Kind of glad the police academy does such a better job then the current GP's and CMO with recruitment.

To save life's of course!

The medics better get there act together... a lot of the new framework involves a NHS facelift and more features for them, 6 hours is not acceptable so maybe the process of waiting in TS rooms should change.

Perhaps send a TS message to GP+ when somone without medic tags joind the 'Waiting for interview"?
Like we used to have as mentors

Or recruit more GP's, I think currently we only have 5 or 6 and most of them work

Ok, so the first thing I'd like to point out, is that there is no way it should take 18 days to get an interview. Not for anyone.

Next, I've received one message from you, and that was tonight, so you can't say that I don't respond to my messages. I may take a while to get back to you, but I always respond. You messaged me on a Sunday, right after the meeting. I have other work to get done so didn't read my messages until after you had left, 45 mins later. The only time I don't respond to my messages is if I'm either afk or busy with other things. In those cases, I get the messages the next day, and if you're online at the time I'll get back to you.

Now, the main problem with interviews right now is a lack of GP's. Medic activity has been very bad over the past few months, for a number of reasons. The main ones were not having whitelisting access for a while, and two CMO's stepping down. Activity is improving, but due to the amount of applications and interviews that need doing, it's difficult to keep up. We currently have 5 GP's, 4 of whom are also active members of the police, one being in Academy. Another GP is also a mentor. One is on holiday and another is quite inactive due to irl problems. With real life as well, this makes it very difficult for GP's and myself to keep up with the influx of medics recently. I'm currently looking for more MTO's and GP's to fill the roles of recruitment and training, but it's a slow process trying to find the right people.

Unfortunately, until we have more GP's that have been fully trained, interviews can take a while. I do agree that 6 hours is not acceptable, as @Wilco pointed out, but it's very difficult to avoid a long waiting time until we have more GP's. All I can suggest for now is that instead of waiting in the channel, just message GP's and go do whatever else you want until someone gets back to you.

And yes, the police academy does a way better job than us with recruitment right now. They also have a lot more members than the
GP team and have a huge selection of police members to choose their staff from.

Final comments: Medic activity is increasing by a lot, and we are actively recruiting more MTO's and GP's over the coming weeks. Generally, medic activity and influence in the server is increasing a lot, and shows no signs of slowing down. If there are any medics interested in MTO or GP roles, please feel free to contact me. I am working my absolute hardest to try to improve the NHS, in every way possible. I spend anywhere up to 10 hours a day working on NHS things, so it's not that I'm lazy or doing a bad job, I just can't keep up with everything myself.

Thanks for reading,

CMO Marc Smith
