Hi All,

I am a bit new to this roleplaying and have started playing on Altis recenlty with my lad and we are enjoying it very much.

Last night, I was on my way to mine some iron and when stopping for fuel in Athita I noticed a few police with their hands on their heads, I assume being robbed.

I was asked to move on by someone with a gun, there were a few about and one was being very abusive, so I hung about a bit, a little curious.

After getting rudely asked to move on again I thought I would help the police out ramming one of the antagonists, several times, until my HEMMT Box was upside down and I was summarily executed, probably a fair call, the execution bit that is.

I fairly quickly realised that I had gone on a rampage with a truck, arguably without entering RP and I remembered from the rules that vehicles are not allowed as weapons. I did get asked into TS, which I did do, nobody came in to reprimand me and I did shout out a couple of times on chat.

This roleplay really does grab you into the scenario and gets the heart pumping, I even find myself checking all corners when going to the cash machine now, in real life.. 

Am sorry to the guys I ran over and car(s) destroyed and / or maimed, I recognise my mistake and probably a few rules I broke, it won't happen again :)

 
Re-reading them now 👍It was more acting without thinking in the heat of the moment. I'll remember to act more appropriately.

Am sure I'm a marked man now by one particular gang, happy to buy them a couple of hatchbacks to replace the flat ones they now own 😎

Ah, a mistake made by the many eager to start their life on Altis. When I first arrived on the island, I read all the rules, but there was so freaking many of them it was impossible to remember them all. During my first ever trip to the hand gun store (2 hours fresh) someone jumped out in front of my car with a gun and demanded I stop.  I didn't, in fact I mowed that mofo down thinking I'd done what any sane person would do. 100m down the road still laughing uncontrollably, a horrible thought popped into my head - 'did I read something about that?'.

A quick re-visit to the rules and I realised my mistake then spent the next few days checking to see if I'd been banned. 

Moral of the story is, you learned you made a mistake, took note, appologised and tried to make things right.  Don't be so hard on yourself, and of course, don't do it again ;)

 
This is one of the most genuine non-ban appeals I have ever seen, a tear in my eye 😢

 
Is there a rule clarifying the use of a vehicle as a weapon ?

Obviously using a vehicle against a walking player is not allowed, ramming into crowds randomly etc.

Is vehicle on vehicle allowed after RP has been started ?

I had an incident where an off roader pulled up at the diamond mine, one person started to chat and asked me to put my hands up whilst his buddy was failing to picklock my truck.

I feigned ignorance and fully engaged with my antagonist in chat, I 'couldn't hear him fully over the noise of my vehicle alarm'. Then ran off around my truck, got in and drove off, not necessarily avoiding said antagonists.

Once I got to the junction at the end of the diamond mine road I decided to wait and offer some payback. I waited for them to drive out of the mine, they choose a route through the fields so I aimed for a head on reunion with my new friends..

Am I in the right or wrong at this time ?

This did end in a protracted chase around mid Altis ending in me hiding in bullrushes and low on fuel.

They drove past my position and I exited the other way, If only I had a decent rifle..

[SIZE=medium](2.1) Vehicle Deathmatch (also known as VDM) - Using your vehicle as a weapon (e.g running people over, causing explosions, ramming, etc), will result in you receiving a ban. Three vehicles are excluded from this, MRAPS (Ifrits, Hunters and Striders) can ram other MRAPS in order to disable them, yet not to kill the passengers. This is allowed as these vehicles are the only vehicles ingame that can withstand being rammed. Please note that you need to initiate roleplay before attempting to ram an MRAP. (Please note - MRAPS don't need to be initiated on in the redzone) This is to prevent random ramming on site. (Three minutes of chasing also constitutes initiation of MRAP and MRAP ramming).[/SIZE]

The only vehicles which can be used to ram with no intention of killing passengers are MRAP's which include (strider, ifrits and hunter)

 
Yeh, have read that and would prefer to go about my Altis Life without talking any lives, unless forced to defend myself or my gang.

 
Good on you for posting that! Yeah, don't hit people with vehicles (VDM)

That aside, glad you found it immersive and enjoyable!

 
Axeman!! I remember meeting you in game a few weeks ago. Me and my buddies took you and your lad down to the red zone and paid for some starter gear for you both. From what I saw then you and your lad both really enjoyed the server and you said you wished to carry on playing, which was a joy to hear.

Anyway, I am sure everyone appreciates the apology but just don't let it happen again! :D

 
Jack, yes and thanks for the trip into the badlands, even though it didn't end that well ;)

Since then we have made a bit of cash mining. I have made a nighttime journey to the same outpost and earnt my rebel licence :)

I have had to ban my kids from the mod since an encounter on Sunday morning, even with me as chaperone. They are a bit younger and some behaviour is definitely not for the younger player, probably a bit naive on my behalf as they normally play with me on non role play servers, lesson learnt.

No fault of the server hosts. For anyone reading I would definitely not allow younger players on the server(s), it is an adult server, most people have been great but there are always a few bad eggs out there.

Anyway, they had fun and are back on my local Dev Server where I can keep an eye on them (not cause trouble), they also missed the dog training / taming I have in the works and I do need testers after all :)

Thanks for taking your time to show us the ropes.

Yeah, some encounters that you will come into on the server definitely aren't for a younger audience. So glad you decided to carry on playing though. Since I last met you I have joined the UNMC and have no reached the rank of Lance Corporal so you might see me in game under the name LCpl. J Shepherd [UNMC]

 
I look forward to it, I was wondering if they would accept rebel members. Might have to try out myself some time.

Am currently mining by day and moonlighting as an ARAC engineer. You can usually find me in the bar at the start of my night shift.

If you go to this link and fill it out amazingly (Like write as much as possible!) if UNMC Command believe you are good enough you will be recruited! :D

 
To be honest, just got shot without warning by someone called SUPERGREENWEED whilst mining.

Same old Arma, full of idiots who can only shoot on sight, no sign of him in TS as requested, funny that.

There really needs to be an automated system to at least flag up suspicious kills, at the moment it's follow the rules and work to get robbed or rob and drive around in a chavmobile :)

Yes I saw this incident go down in the chat, hes not the best or nicest person I assure you from past experience
