Altis Police ride along

I would like to see what the Altis Police force does on a daily basis.  I was wondering if it would be at all possible to do a ride along for a couple hours to see Altis from a LEO's perspective.  I don't want to be a hindrance and I will follow all commands given to me by the officer in charge of me without question as I know he will be doing it for my safety.  I can ride in the back and observe writing citations, investigating petty and major crimes that they are faced with and how they go about tackling all they are confronted with.  I think this would be a great learning experience for me.  My in game name is Mixxerd and I play at erratic times but I can work around something this weekend if we need to schedule it.  Thanks for your consideration!

Yes, this is possible. If you are under 16 and would like to join, you need to go through the Young Recruit Scheme (like the ridealong) - message SI + and you will get a tag and be able to go on them. Not sure about ridealongs but I think if you just message a SGT + then they will add the ridealong tag for you and yo can join their patrol.

I am very new to Altis and am 37.  I don't know if I want to be a LEO, but I want to see Altis from their perspective.  How do you tell rank when looking at the players in the text messenger while on the street?  I came from Chenarus and there were no laws or organized military of any kind and recognizing badging is new to me.  Maybe after I learn the layout of the map and feel comfortable possibly enforcing laws I could take a different stance on applying and seeing if I have what it takes to keep Altis a safer place.

You don't need to stay in roleplay on the forums xD. If you have Teamspeak, that it what we base our communications and everything else on. You need to get TS and message an SGT or above for a ridealong, if they accept you, they will give you the tag.

Thanks Ferguss!  I have been on your TS shortly and was a little overwhelmed at first by the size of it, but a friend explained it a little so it makes some sense.  I will get on there later today when I have some time to permit to it and see if I can get a ride along.  Thanks for your help again Ferguss!

Ride along is a great way to see the how life as a cop would be. I would recommend you do more than just 1 though as like real life, things can be very different from one day to another.

Like you, I was very new to Altis life when I joined the cops. I would definitely recommend you spend a little time as a civ before applying so you first get to grips with server rules and mechanics.  It can be quite overwhelming trying to learn both server and police rules / procedures at the same time. There's a lot to take in.
