I believe you are trying to log on as a member of Police or NHS, which are whitelisted factions. It's should be the option on the bottom.

On the left side, when joining, one can select different sides. You need to join the CIV side, indicated by purple markers. First you select that, than you will see a list with players and empty slots. Select a empty slot and you will see your name appear on the slot. Then click join and you should be all good. To join as Police or NHS, you need to apply via the application forms available at the bottom of the forums!

 
Medics are he green slot and police the blue slot, you need to be selecting the purple slot on the left hand side which will allow you to join the non whitelisted civilian slot, if you have any more questions feel free to ask :) 

 
Cheers guys ill have a go at joining now. some people  where telling me you need to have a interview before you can join with so many questions?

Yeah, if you want to be a cop or medic, you need to apply (see bottom of the forums) and do a interview. Thats because these roles require people to roleplay a specific type of person and there are internal rules and procedures for each job that you need to learn. It is a good way to become better in roleplaying and get to learn people in the community, but it is best to have basic experience and knowledge of the communities rules :).

Some servers have completely whitelisted servers that you do have to go through a whole interview process to get in, but we believe that anyone should be allowed to play, so all you have to do is follow the rules.
