Altis life fps lower than I'd like

Hi all, I own an MSI GT72 gaming laptop. When I play on arma 3 I get between 50 and 60 fps on most online servers and other games my fps is great, but when I play altis life I get on average 20 to 25 fps which is a huge drop. I haven't tweaked anything on the computer, below are the specs I think my laptop has, I'm at work right now so I can't confirm. If it's necessary when I'm home Ill post exactly what I have but I'm pretty sure it is what is here,

Screen size - 17.3 in - 1920 x 1080

Processor - Intel Core i7 4710HQ - 2.5 GHz (I'm pretty sure when I brought it, it stated it could be overclocked to either 3.5 or 3.7GHz)

RAM - 16 GB

Hard Drive - 1 TB

SSD - 128gb Raid 3

Operating System - Windows 8.1 (64-Bit)

Optical Drive - Blu-Ray RW

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M

Graphics Memory - GDDR5

I don't have any problems with other games, online. Just altis life, I know most will say I should get a desktop but the laptop is really good, and I like its portability, one day when I can get the funds to build a monster computer I will but until then I'm on the laptop I really like lol.

Love to hear suggestions to help me increase my fps on altislife if I can, I don't know if it makes a difference but when I change the graphical options between high which is is on and low, it makes no difference to fps.

You can overclock your CPU to 3.5GHZ. I'd actually recommend that you do so as you can squeeze all the extra juice out of it possible. As for your issue, I'm not sure about it.

Cheers man. Ill look into how i can safely overclock my cpu. With regards to my issue im not sure either lol

I would not overclock it since it's a laptop, it can so easily burn down.

well not so much burn down, but cause irreversible damage.

Laptops are built to cool it to a certain spec, If your going to OC it, then keep an eagle eye on your heat levels.

I see what your both saying, the laptop is able to be overclocked. Heat isn't an issue as the laptop design is a very sweet dual fan system. If I can find an image on Google I'll add it so u can see.

I have gaming laptop aswell Asus G551jm.

No problems with fps in the server what so ever. Getting decent 35fps+ in Kavala.

Make sure you use 'High Perfomance' option and run the game via Gforce experience ;)

and with over heating shouldn't be a problem, because most of new laptops have protection for it. Laptop will just force to shut down to avoid heat damage. But you can always use one of those coolers..

Have one like this, using it on hp dv6 since it overheats pretty quick
