The price of the AK variants has been a height of conversation and debate for a long time now; whether the price is worth the stats of the firearm, whether paying 550k is worth the potential risk of losing it! Many members have their own viewpoint on the subject and of course, the Management Team have theirs. Now, on the server, the variants of the classic and beautiful Ak-47 (Kalashnikov) are all moderately-high priced ranging from around 450k-980k (I believe the most expensive weapon). Now, your question was 'Why the high price', evidently not being part of the Development/Management Team I can not give you an 'official' and 'highly-trusted' view, however, I can give you an estimate on why it is like this; the primary reason probably relates back to something along the lines of the high damage values, one of the highest on the server. These weapons are meant to be used in Close-Medium range, not over 800m. Meaning the weapons are optimally used in close-quarters,Ā fast paced combat.Ā

if we are going off real life, in the middle east there are enough AK's for 1:3 people. You can buy one in places in the far east for about $25 (Estimate) In ArmA terms, the AKS-74 is just a shit MK20. Overpriced and completely ruins any chance for poorer players of the community to RP as something like a terrorist

@Sonny AsifĀ the reason that this weapon is so expensive is due to its high penetration, as mentioned the price has been argued in many cases however at this time stays the way it is, maybe inĀ the future it will be lowered as I believe it is only a 5.45 mm but for now if you can't afford it I highly recommend the MX variantsĀ

i hope you are joking about the AK penetration? It has the worst penetration out of any assault rifle.
The AKM has the same penetration as a MK20 and the same goes for the AK12. The MK 1 has highest bullet velocity, with medium penetration. MK18 lowest penetration, medium bullet velocity. MK14 highest bullet penetration medium velocity. The Ak's were good when they came out, now they are close to useless. I can make a video if you want?Ā
