Administrator Permission

So I'm back with yet another problem.. This time I formatted my PC due to a nasty virus and I didn't really have any problems with it. So I was trying to install Windows 7  Service pack 1 platform update and I decided to install windows updates but it's telling me: "Windows update is currently installing other updates" but it isn't, I've been patient and now it tells me "You need administrative permission to install updates" but this is the only user on the PC and it's an administrator of course. I'm so lost..

It could be that the malware (probably not a virus) has screwed up permissions on your machine, you are best off wiping it fully and starting again to be sure. or at least creating a second user account to fix any broken permissions.
