I am by no means any expert, but here's what I think happend:
There's been a lot of delay on storing vehicles lately. Sometimes so much, so one would be tempted to say: "Fuck it, the server probably didn't get the request." And simply fly off. When the server then catches up, it stores your vehicle. At least that's happend to me a couple of times.

We checked the logs and found nothing out of order.
As Shepred says, we believe it was a server issue since we found no proof that was something else.
Feel free to post a comp request loss for the fellow civilian that died from unknown reasons, maybe ebola is here after all!
