Brief Summary:

Add decimals to radio frequencies

Detailed Suggestion:

Allow players to select frequencies up to 1 decimal and also compact the encrypted frequencies (Police, NHS, Gruppe Sechs) into decimals to give a wider range of frequencies.

The Pros:

More radio frequencies to support more groups

The Cons:

Harder to guess frequencies / find them by going 1 by 1

Does this suggestion change balance on the server ?

It makes it harder to guess frequencies

On par with what Fluqi has commented on this mate - although for whatever reason it has been downvoted a bit.

As I partially stated in the previous suggestion made about adding more frequencies, people only usually search for frequencies on rare occasions such as a gang trying to find intel about a gang they are at war with etc so it's not really that much of an issue in my opinion.

Add decimals to radio frequencies
As I suggested in the other thread rather than doing decimals I believe increasing it to 2000 frequencies would definitely be enough.

More radio frequencies to support more groups
1000 is already way more than enough, there's only 251 max players at a time and the only people that would really use radios are friends/gangs/organisations etc which probably results in less than 100 frequencies being actively used at one point. So therefore there's way more than enough free channels for people to use at the moment anyway.

It makes it harder to guess frequencies
It currently takes around an hour to search 100 - 1000 (listening to each frequency for around 3 seconds) plus not all get found first time, sometimes it can take a few attempts to find them so it's not that easy currently anyway.

In my opinion there should be decimal places added to radio frequencies. At the moment it is very easy to get onto the same freq as other people by accident. Its also very easy for people to surf freqs if they do it a certain way. I would love for decimal places to be added in e.g 173.6 meaning that there are just more freq's to choose from, you wont be getting randoms on your radio etc etc

If you have any more input lmk below.

I think factions should have a hidden frequency but it be locked to them if it's not already. Emergency services could be grouped or split, maybe the option to join a general ems or faction specific so the ambulance guys don't get shouted down because someone was being naughty selling drugs etc and gets caught by police.

Also official gangs, by virtue of membership, should have a closed frequency restricted to their members.

This means that if they are collaborating in a larger group or alliance its done on a public frequency and is therefore subject to being intercepted and so should mean they need to be very careful about what's said over comms.

The Government factions have a Private radio channels that are set to them only, police have them, NHS and groupe 6 they all can access each others radio channel but the CIV's are not able to due to it being restricted to them.

In my opinion it makes no sense for gangs to have an encrypted frequency as:

1. IRL a gang would likely have no chance of getting one.

2. In my opinion it makes things slightly more fun if you are at war with another gang and find their frequency (whether by kidnapping a member or searching) which then lets you gain some intel about their plans.

Plus the idea of encrypted gang freqs was already spoken about here:

As I said in the previous post about this there's 1000 channels and likely only around 100 max are in use at one time so it's really not hard to switch frequency if you are on the same one as someone else.

This is just incorrect, as I've said before:

1. Searching takes around an hour for all frequencies if you are listening to each one for around 3 seconds.

2. There's the chance of missing the frequency if nobody is speaking whilst your listening to it which means it sometimes could take multiple hours.

3. Once you are done searching you then have to listen to each frequency to work out who is who (if they haven't changed frequency by the time you get to that point) which also means you need to know some of the voices.

My main point is that people rarely search frequencies unless they are trying to find the frequency of a gang they have beef/are at war with.

Would be nice to have more frequencies to choose from, but at the same time it is interesting to have a certain amount of risk using public airwaves to relay sensitive information.

I know its not in the original suggestion but is in the comment, there is no reason for gangs to have encrypted radio frequencies that only they can get access to unless it is done through completely separate radios that could be acquired illegally. Emergency Services use air wave radios that are very restricted in the UK and can be remotely disabled by the manufacturer if stolen.

Rejected, instead the channel amount was increased to 2000.
