During my short time on this server I've experienced fantastic Role play; from nearly all people on the server. Although there was one outstanding group that caught my attention after more than a few encounters. These encounters with this group soon became extremely stale and repetitive, and I was really disappointed in the Role play involved. During these encounters the dialogue would all ways be: "Sir we've scanned your license plate and your wanted for xxx" "Can you please put your hands on your head, we're just gonna search you (or your vehicle)" "OK sir I'm gonna give you a fine of xxx (or send you to prison)". These few lines with little variation would be repeated with every time I saw this group, and after a few of these stops there's nothing to be gained from them; they're just minor inconveniences rather than a huge deal that they should be. There is no detective work behind these arrests, there's no strict evidence, there's no motivation, all they have to go off is a license plate scanner which tells them everything about the suspect. This ease of evidence and lack of interesting dialogue, leads to some real crappy Role play and overall a very dissatisfying experience.

I acknowledge by writing this post, I am opening myself up to huge flak from this group and others, as I am new and don't fully understand the server quite yet. I also acknowledge that there are some amazing role players inside this group that really do make the server feel more alive; although I am speaking to the majority of people in this group. I am also not without my flaws, during my time here I have made my opinion of this group very clear to them in a rather brash way. Anyway this is just a post to get this off of my chest, I understand I'm not adding anything to this to make it better; I am only raising awareness of this underlying issue in hopes of starting a reasonable discussion.

Merry Christmas

Although I do agree that some cops need to add more variation into their roleplay (Cops are going to argue against this) but some cops are very good at making your day by providing very fun roleplay. What I recommend for you is to come up with an RP story when you jump out the vehicle so you are able to interact with the officers and roleplay out of it. Maybe the reason there is not much RP is because you're lacking the imagination of creating a story. If you want good roleplay, come up with a story instead of just listening to everything that the cops are saying. Cops follow basic procedures unless the civilian they are dealing with tries to come up with a reasonable answer for why the crimes under their name are there. Roleplay works both ways always remember that.

I am currently in Acadamy in the Police in which we train and test new officers joining the police.

People just like yourself are new to the server and game, we teach the basic roleplay and procedure in which they are to follow. However we can only advise them a way to better RP, once they have learned the basics it's up to them to add more depth and intelligence to their roleplay. We can't spend every hour every day to teach people RP, everyone's RP is different and unique in some way.

Moral of what I'm saying is, we teach them procedures and basics knowledge of the police it's up to them to adapt and use their initiative to increase their RP.

You can always give some advice to people yourself after situations in an adult manner.

Merry Christmas,

Drew!

Understandable, I have tried this method in the past; but unfortunately it has not worked many times. After a few attempts of creating a decent backstory, it seems almost useless trying to role play with them. But thanks for the response, I'll try and think even more creatively in the future.

Best of luck buddy! Try and come up with creative stories, trust me cops hear the same story every day, "It's an airsoft rifle". Add more variation and creativity and you would find that you can escape situations easier because the cops will be impressed. Do not come up with something ridiculous though such as your rifle is a "bionic arm".

to be fair we are here to roleplay and the way i like to roleplay is by doing my job which is being a cop but i do agree with some points there could be more roleplay involved but trust me come over to the police for a bit buddy in a while when you understand the server a bit better and see what we need to deal with its very difficult sometimes to begin some good quality rp but we do try our best and always will! :)

I agree with this for the most part, I love to roleplay myself and encourage others to do so. I know it's a pain being pulled over, and that's why people tend not to stop. There is a few times where you would be edgy i.e cop killer, so we would want to get them in restraints to be sure we won't come to any harm also. If you can give good roleplay you can normally get off lightly ;) What i have said before and continue saying your voice is the strongest weapon you need on the server!

p.s A ride to prison with me is fun xD
