Today is my 1 year anniversary of joining ALUK and I thought I'd make a post about it because why not?

How I came to join the server
Firstly, I'd like to enlighten you all as to how I came to join the server.
Like usual, I got home from school, did my work and what not, and hopped onto my PC. I joined teamspeak and chatted to my friends, who were about to start a Dota 2 match. I asked if I could come, and naturally they said no as I suck at Dota. So, I loaded up Arma and decided to play some Altis Life as I had enjoyed playing it in the past. I started to browse for servers, and by accident I ended up finding ALUK Server 2. I then searched for server 1, logged in, and started playing. I started off with copper runs, and eventually met a lovely man named Hatchingdraggon / @Haywire, who I think is probably my oldest friend here at ALUK. He then got me to join the medics, which brings me to the next section.
NHS
So, continuing from the previous section.
I made an application and it was accepted by @lionel. I had my interview completed by Ximi. Thank you to you both as you were the reasons I have stayed this long on ALUK. I played as medic and civilian for several weeks and months, until eventually at the rank of MD I asked @Thanatos if I could be an MTO, and I remember that he said:
"Yes... to whoever just asked me"
and then gave me the tag and left the channel xD.
On the 31st of March, myself along with the other MTO's (Who all have since left the NHS) were promoted to GP under CMOs lionel and Thanatos. I have been a GP ever since, and have seen atleast 1, if not 2 who new NHS staff teams appear and dissolve around me. I have met some amazing people in my time and made close friends through the NHS. As I said before, it is one of the main reasons I am still here at ALUK. Currently, I am the longest serving GP (I even joined the NHS before the current CMO's did!) and head of Air Rescue. I am really enjoying my position and I hope I don't get removed for inactivity!
Mentors
At the beginning of summer this year, I was accepted into the mentor team, where I made some great friends (Who I will talk about later on). However, around the end of summer I fucked up, and was removed. I don't want to dwell on negative experiences so I won't, however I will say that it was some of my best months at ALUK and if you are thinking about applying next time, I would certainly recommend it. And to current Mentors - OBEY THE CoC!
People
I would now like to thank some people who have made my time here so special.
Firstly, the Senior Admin / Admin team
You guys keep the community together and run it fantastically. You always seems to sort out any problems within the community and everything comes out al right in the end even if things look bad. It's a great job you are doing and I thank you for giving up your free time to be a part of this community and carry out your duties.
NHS
Lionel - Thank you for accepting me into the NHS. As I said before, you were part of the start of my journey here.
Thanatos - Similar to above. Thank you for giving me a chance to be a part of the staff team.
Hatch - Thank you for being the first person to befriend me, and help me to get to where I am now. I know we don't speak that much now, but I still regard you as a close friend here

Lharmon – The anger pulsates within you xD.
Bob – Stop breaking databases! Probably one of the GP’s I know best
Hank – We’ve shared some laughs in the past and had a lot of fun.

Mickeey – You always make my databases look pretty.
Other GPs – Keep up the good work! I’m sure you are already more active than me…
UNMC
Thank you to all of those I played with in the UNMC. I had a lot of great fun and I hope that they are restored to their former glory soon, and that Paros is in their control!

Altis Repo / Bawbags
Thank you for letting me be friends with you! I do enjoy chatting with you guys and just pissing about on the server and whatnot.
These are all the people I can think of at the moment who have made my time here so special. If I think of anyone else I’ll be sure to add them!
In conclusion, after spending a whole year with this amazing community, I have come to befriend so many wonderful people who have made me very happy, and I hope that this trend continues in the future.
