i would just play and roleplay it out, and just wait and play until i can leave.  or just dont play before i need to go somewere .

because if there was no such rule, anyone could just leave the game, what makes it boring for everyone and it is not taken seriously, and it would destroy the roleplay because, in real life you cant just dissapear!.
